Karl and Nancy enjoy woodworking, crafting and painting. Karl makes furniture as well as cutting out figures and making shelves for Nancy to paint. Nancy has taught tole painting and currently has a job painting baskets for Mary Friedrichs who hand-weaves the baskets and takes them to shows all over the South-West. Karl and Nancy design shelves and cabinents and then Karl builds them and Nancy paints them. Here are a few examples of what some of these projects look like. More photos will be added later.
Nancy was hired to paint this hope chest for a christmas gift. 2001
Here is a close-up of the front of the hope chest:
Here is a cabinent that we made for the bathroom in our "old house". We had to leave it there.
Karl not only made this cabinent, but also the apple pie and apple tree "luv chunks" for me to paint.
This is my favorite birdhouse that Karl has made for me!
Karl and I made these for a craft show.
I really enjoyed painting these baskets. Karl designed and made the table in the background.
Mary's son-in-law made this birdhouse and hired me to paint it.
The rest are baskets I've painted for Mary:
This is a shelf that Karl and I designed and made at our "old house". It stayed
with the house. I had made the balloon curtains myself too.
