Pagent World
I have nothing against child pagents- if the child enjoys them. I think JonBenet loved the pagnets and I feel Patsy enjoyed spending that time with her daughter. I think the pagents gave JonBenet self esteem and helped her to believe in herself. They were not "beauty pagents". They did not compete for what child was more beautiful. They had a talent competition as well. JonBenet won the talent competition at her last pagent. I also am glade JonBenet was in the pagents, because those are memories Patsy will have forever. No one can take those memories of JonBenet away from Patsy. No, not even the tabloids. JonBenet loved those pagents. She wanted to be like her mom. Every little girl likes to dress up (I know I did!), every little girl wants to be like her Mom. Its natual. When Patsy was diagnosed with ovarian cancer, she thought she was going to die. She needed to spend quality time with her kids, before she died...and thats what she did. Sadly, JonBenet died first. The child is never supposed to die first. I don't have children yet, but I pray to God I go before they do. Thats just the cycle. JonBenet loved the pagents, therefore there is nothing wrong with them. I do urge parents to be careful if their daughter is in them. We will never know if there was a sick man watching JonBenet during those pagents, with sick things in his head...that eventually led to her death. Becareful and take care of you children.
