The clues almost always contain 2 parts
one the actual clue
two the actual answer is hidden in someway

the trick is to tell which is which

1.reverse for example means letters are in reverse order
can be other words that mean the dame thing

2.mixed up, scrambled, etc. mean the words are present but in a scrambled format

3. part, partly in may mean the word is in another word present

4. letters may be phonetically hidden " see" is C
