Some very special people need the Shrine Hospitals

 The Rosenow family was featured Thursday, August 24th in the Cincinnati Enquirer, click here to read their story. Some of the Syrian Shrine Clowns met the Rosenows at the Cincinnati Burns Hospital. The article doesn't mention it, but the Rosenows use the Cincinnati and Lexington Shrine Hospitals extensively to repair their children. We should all be proud of the part we get to play in the lives of these children.

 


 

Cincinnati Transport Team receives accreditation

 The emergency transport team at the Shriners Burns Hospital in Cincinnati received re-accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation of Medical Transport Systems. This accreditation is good for three years. There are only 74 flight team programs (within the US and internationally) that are accredited.  

Dr. Warden, the chief of staff at Shriners Burns Institute, employs his skills to save a 51 year old woman.

The Shrine hospitals have always been at the forefront of burn treatment for children, especially saving children with extensive burns. Many of the techniques originated in our hospitals are later put to use in other hospitals, all over the world. Our work to build and operate our hospitals helps burn victims of all ages. Shriner's Burns Hospital specializes in burn care and treatment with family-centered team approach. Physicians and parents or guardians are encouraged to call the hospital anytime for help assessing or treating a burn. Staff will assess the situation and coordinate access to care as needed. This may include a visit to the Outpatient Department or direct admission by our Transport team. Pamphlets and other written materials concerning burn care are available to physicians to use as a resource or for distribution in their offices.
