Sarah Willey

Mrs. Sarah Willey widow of Henry James Willey died Friday. She was born in Ross Ohio daughter of Alexander and Elizabeth Beaver, and was married in 1884 to Mr. Willey

Nine children were born to Mrs. Willey, four preceded her in death.

She leaves two sons, William and Clarence, three daughters; Mrs. Fred Phillips, Mrs. Charles Keck, and Mrs. Richard Brotherton all of Hamilton, one sister Mrs. Laura Bank of Okeana, and one grandchild James Willey, Camp Attercamp, Indiana. Burial in Greenwood.

Preceded in death by a brother William, 3 sisters, Elizabeth Phillips, Miss Ethel Willey, and Alzilea Willey Brotherton.

Leaves his wife, two sons, Wm. and Clarence, three daughters, Alzilea Willey, Mrs. Fred Phillips, Mrs. Charles Keck, one grandchild, one brother, William, two sisters, Mrs. Mary Knoser, of Indianapolis, and Mrs. Peter Seifert of Cincinnati

Rites Thursday for John Wiley

Services for J. Wiley, 62, 852 N. Second St., who died Monday in Mercy Hospital, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, in the Michael J. Colligan Funeral Home, 437 S. Third St.

The Rev. J.D. Jarvis, pastor of the Pentecastol Church will officiate. Burial will be in Milleville Cemetery. Friends may call after 4 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral.

Mr. Wiley had been in apparent good health before suffering a stroke at home on Sunday and his sudden death is a shock to his family and friends.

He was born in Hamilton, November 22, 1900 the youngest son of William and Lucy Klein Wiley. He was educated in the Hamilton Public School and in his youth worked various farms in Butler County. For ten years he was employed at the American Can Co. and later as a painter and paper hanger for the Jarvis-Owens Painting and Decorating Company. On August 3, 1928 he married Hazel Fyffe, and one daughter was born to the union.

Mr. Wiley enjoyed various sports, including hunting and fishing, and was an avid follower of the Cincinnati Reds Baseball Team.

He leaves a daughter Mrs. Bruce Hollenbaugh, Hobart, Ind., one grandson, 2 brothers Guildford Wiley, of Ross, and George Wiley of Georgetown Fl., several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers and 2 sisters.
