It
doesn’t take a psychic to guarantee you a million and one
links
to a million and one psychic websites if you Google the
words…
Psychic Medium. Give it a try!
You will certainly be presented with all sorts of ads claiming
everything from FREE PSYCHIC READINGS to the promise that
someone – somewhere will bring back that special someone
you dated 20 years ago to sweep you off your feet and onto a
magical white horse…or into a white limo as times have
changed. Whether white unicorn or white limousine, either is
more than likely unattainable and certainly cannot be guaranteed.
Look harder and you will find the pledge of 100% accuracy
for that psychic reading. Which I believe is a totally
impossible claim - as life spins on a dime.
To receive 80% accuracy is incomparable.
This all brings us down to...
How in the world, can you find...an authentic &
ethical...psychic for your reading? Is it possible? Can you
trust what you read on the psychics website?
Where the World Wide Web is an amazing device, bringing so much
knowledge and wisdom on any subject from low fat chicken salad
recipes to articles on paranormal events, you do need to use
caution when utilizing this remarkable instrument called the
Internet.
Especially when you are in the market to purchase…sight
unseen.
Your bargain could range anywhere from buying a new bedspread
to ordering home repair. It doesn't HAVE to be psychic
readings...
I know, I have locked myself into some pretty seedy
purchases.
I have web shopped for everything from ink for the printer
that arrives dried up
to my favorite after sun moisturizer
(so very easily purchased when I was
in St. Pete Florida).
The moisturizer....(gagging now just
remembering it)
seemed to take on the smell of orangutan poop between manufacturing
and the shipping.
In each case, I was stuck with invaluable
purchases.
Could I return the products?
Well yes.
But all the aggravation.
I am not much of a returning type shopper.
This "I just been ripped off" factor can happen
when
your buy anything....even a psychic reading.
Now I wish I could say my ink and lotion were the only 2 times
I have felt swindled while shopping www.somethingsomething.com.
And...OHhhhhH how I can hear the skeptics now
"if she is SO psychic...how did this happen?"
But truth be known....I have surfed the web looking for a reading for myself.
(Yes…the secret is out...I cannot read for myself)
and I have found some of the most marvelous readers, who turned
into friends or at the very least, a reader that I will continue
to purchase my readings from as long as I choose to have
readings.
While finding those remarkable readers, I have also made some unwise buying
decisions when selecting a reading for me, the professional
psychic!
(Please do skip your email asking how could I make a mistake in
selecting a psychic, since I am a
psychic…I cannot always
foretell and foresee for myself. I am not impartial and biased
with my personal feelings, emotions, and decisions I make. It is
difficult for me to listen to myself, as there are certain
lessons I must learn. Sometimes those lessons can be rephrased
to the word…mistakes) And I guess one of the mistakes I had to
make is buying into a psychic reading with a psychic reader that
appeared authentic.
And I want to place a PS here.
Those readings I engaged in -
where I felt the readings was not quite top shelf
readings....
or accurate in the least....
does not positively mean the psychic I picked was a fraud or
scam artist.
The fact that the reading was not up to par could actually mean
several things other than fraudulent reading or fraudulent
reader.
Maybe - we didn't mesh.
Our personalities clashed...
This happens sometimes when I am reading
for my own clientele.
There is just something about their characteristics,
their nature, their disposition, their energy that I cannot bond
with. Now I don't need to become best friends with my clients.
In fact, just the opposite. I should NOT become best friends
with clients. It will eventually take me away from the proxy of
being their reader. But, their should be this....unification...if
only for 15 minutes. (this is hard to explain, but I know some
of my friends who are also colleagues, have stated they
understand what I mean when I say this). Because my job is to
help you, I must feel united with the client, I must be able to
form a unit of compassion for their situation, no matter if I
think what is going on in their life is proper or not. I cannot
be judgmental when reading for a paying client. And there are
times just upon hearing a client state the salutation of the
word "HELLO" I can feel myself cringe. I know that I
am just NOT going to be able to connect with this person.
Doesn't mean they are bad.
Doesn't mean I am being judgmental.
Just means we will clash.
Maybe the reader[s] that I felt less than talented, felt this
conflict
when I said HELLO .... =)
I can handle that.
I also always take into account when I get a not so hot
reading... a reading that doesn't really answer the
questions that I have...then I figure that the questions I had in
mind for the reading...are simply issues and
circumstances that I need to work through, single-handed
and ON MY OWN. No easy answers.
That part of my life may be somewhat Like
a test.
The celestial council that keeps watch over us states...
"Lets see how Vicki will deal with this".
Maybe the word "celestial observation" would apply
better than "TEST".
When I hang up my phone from what I feel is one of those
- less
than - readings....
I chalk it up to experience most often.
I can walk away knowing
it was just not meant to be.
EXCEPTIONS!!!
Ok...there are
exceptions.
I can walk away, comfortably and WITHOUT ....
revulsion, as long as I have not been given the old, "YOU
NEED A CANDLE!" (to the tune of hundreds of dollars)
Or...."YOUR HUSBAND IS CHEATING...I CAN FIX THIS....SEND A
CASHIERS CHECK....$1000!"
Let me promise you this. If I were to send a psychic a check for
a $1000.....
my husband WOULD cheat on me. Right after he had me locked up
somewhere for the spending insane!
Sure, there could be
infidelity. Betrayal can happen in any situation where a
relationship is present. BUT...at this point in my
marriage (over 14 years together) I know by the time I am done
zapping my hubby's pocketbook....
creating his daily HONEY
DO list,
and talking his ear off
(as he is my bestest
friend)
that man could not have the energy for another woman.
Besides the fact, that we each know where the other one is about
99.99% of the time just due to common decency.
If there is someone else besides the kids, dogs and his family
in
his life, that person NEEDS A READING because she is
getting
no time, no presents and no quality. As a woman, wife, mother,
and his best friend...I have depleted him on an hourly basis!
Not meaning too, but such is life ;)
So as you listen to
your reading realize that there are certain phrases you can hear inside a psychic reading
that should send your alarm off.
When more money is requested....for
quick fix techniques, run.
Run or simply disregard ANYTHING and
EVERYTHING that has been told you. Chances are you have just
locked into one of those fraudulent readings.
If possible, stop the reading as soon as you get the feeling
something is awry here. Like request for additional fees, funds,
gifts to be sent to your reader anything that demands or request
additional compensation.
Your reader may tell you that you will need more time or an
additional reading. Especially if you have asked how to save the
world inside a 10 minute session. I have this happen frequently.
A client sits down or phones me for their session, and in the
very last 2 or 3 minutes, they want to know what their purpose
is or if I can connect to Grandma. Not possible. List your
questions in the order of importance. This way if one question
runs a bit long you can walk away from the reading knowing that
your essential questions have been answered and you don't need
to extend your time or phone immediately back to set up more
time.
What I can share here and now .... is what I have learned
as a person,
as a consumer shopping for a
psychic reading, pet
reading, or medium session…
just like you.
And I can add to this, from the professionals side,
what is right and what is wrong when attempting to find a real,
an accurate and an ethical reader on the Internet or at psychic
fairs.
The one thing I am proudest of are my media
credentials.
Where media
credentials warrant that you are dealing with someone
who has become proficient with their work, or is top in the
field, I don't
want it to seem as though that I am saying only get a reading
when the
psychic has media credentials. Where that is typically a sign
you are
dealing with a psychic/practitioner who has
EXPERIENCE
RESPECT
GOOD REPUTATION and so on....
There are some VERY
good readers
who do not have media attention.
It
is always an honor to be selected by the media to discuss, explain and
promote my work. The media, be it TV, Radio or Print work will
look for the best of the selected topic they want to
report on. Their goal is to present those
that are unsurpassed in their profession OR
those inside of current controversy
When the media wants to acquaint it's public with legitimate
data on a topic, they will look for eloquent and articulateness.
They look for popularity and infamy.
Now let me be clear when I say this,
I am not egotistical when
pointing the fact out,
that the media entertains the best.
I still develop quite a surprise when I receive the opportunity to work
with the media. I am astonished to this day when I am invited to
present a seminar or workshop. I never misrepresent myself with
the fact that the work I do, the words that come through, does
not still
amaze me after several years of professional psychic work and
thousands of one on one readings.
My wonder,
appreciation and intrigue with metaphysics,
spirituality and the power of God,
leaves me the faculty to love my work
every single day.
And I am sure that my wonder shows as I share the stories of very
special clients, or those that are very special to me on the other side. My love for my
work shows when I provide readings that help. My love
for my work is displayed when I do take just several extra
minutes with a client, no additional pay to assist them one step
more, because I know they want to grow.
My love for my work is definitely apparent on most days and in
most occasions.
I have to work and I have contribute to the upkeep and ongoing
work
of my home and family. Most homes require 2 persons to work.
Our
home certainly does.
I don't want to sound like I don't value the fact that I get
paid
for work I love. So income is nice. But when you can combine the
needed salary that keeps a family running coupled WITH the fact that you
earn your living accomplishing some kind of help for others, it is the best
blend of life.
I know for sure, I am
blessed to be one of those
psychics selected to provide
intuitive insight on everything from George Clooney (woo-hoo, he
sure is a cutie!) to most recently, the psychic insight on
Lillian Morris, the newest contestant from the Cincinnati, Ohio
area to compete on Survivor 7-Pearl Islands. There are gazillion
psychics out there who could do this same thing. Some better,
some worse. And they find me.
I do think I am found because my devotion is obvious. This
doesn't mean I won't have a down day, or a down month. But for
the most part my profession is what I knew I would always do. I
was just waiting.
And the highest appreciation I have received from the media. is to be invited back!
When you are requested for a repeat presentation, it is the
highest praise for you and the work you do. Again, being
re-invited has been a blessing for me. More than ½ of my media
invitations are followed up by repeat invitations.
[Gosh, I think I may sound a bit like Sally Field…”They like
me, they REALLY REALLY like me!”] Sorry, I
couldn’t resist.
For those who know me, they know I am not camera eye
candy. I
tend to run a little chubby! I have said that if the
camera adds 10 pounds, it looks like 10 cameras were on me. 10
cameras times 10 pounds...there is that extra hundred pounds I
need to lose! I know the media looks for magnificence in the
physique.
So...thank GOD Pamela Anderson isn't a psychic!
Another pitfall is that when I read for folks whether I am one
on one with them.... OR .... on a televised broadcast, I make funny
faces! Remember the guy in the beer commercials who does bitter
beer face?
He has nothing on me when I read! LOL
As a matter of fact, the overly descriptive reporter who placed
together my article on the 2003 Kentucky Derby horse
readings felt the need to place the fact that I squinted my eyes
like I was drinking “sour milk” and that I swing my hands
around at the wrist like the tilt a whirl ride... as she wrote her article for The Lexington
Herald Leader!
Oh...and let me not forget her depiction of my
physical features....they are as follows (rolling my eyes here) "the large woman with brownish auburn hair".
I guess the reporter wanted to be explicit when introducing me
to
those who may read about the Kentucky Derby horse readings.
My gosh I sounded like I had taken on the physical descriptions
of the
horses I was reading for!
I sure did appreciate her fluency in description.
Even then, I still was honored to be introduced to the public
via newspaper and being the one selected to partake in something
as special as the Kentucky Derby.
One thing I have learned to watch...
when on radio especially
not always
can my humor shine through clearly.
Sometimes the listeners and unsuspecting host doesn't realize my joke or teasing
wit.
So when the caller to Angel Waves Talk Radio asked about the safety of
her home and I shouted “GET OUT OF THERE…THERE IS EVIL IN
THAT THAR’ HOME” I don’t think it was appreciated by
the producer or our sponsors!
And when I write articles of predictions, again, because no
voice tone is heard, and you can’t see my facial
expressions, it is a bit more difficult to detect humor!
[If you are with the media, looking for someone skilled and
proficient in discussing the psychic arts, I assure you,
professional and informative insight. Humor kept to a minimum I
promise] ;)
I feel appropriate in documenting my media credentials, as it is
a degree I have
earned. There are often
only very few kudos' in the
work I do.
More often someone would prefer to attack what I do
rather than give it a chance.
Or take time to hear my side of
the story.
I know more than anyone, this is a shaky field being
a psychic medium.
The odds seem way too high that you will meet
up with a scammer rather than legitimacy. So when I can hold
onto a compliment from a client, or obtain friendly media
attention, it is received, acknowledged and appreciated. My list
of credentials or this editorial is not narcissism nor conceit.
I am definitely not full of myself, these credentials are secured
with hard work and integrity for the work I do and to represent
other principled readers.
This is the case when you see media credentials attached to any
psychic, astrologer, healer, and so on.
Also, I have found that it surprises folks when they learn that
the majority of media appearances are not compensated. (my son
being the top surprised person! As he was ready to tap into my
checking account when he heard that I would have a weekly spot
on Angel Waves! LOL He figured this meant Abercrombie boxers
for the rest of his life...imagine his shock when no financial
paycheck was stationed!)
In most cases... there is no pay of currency for
your time or knowledge. The pay is advertising of your name. The
payment is accreditation as being one of supreme knowledge in
their arena. And there is delight in having your thoughts, your
theories and concepts....broadcast to a large audience.
It
allows what you believe, and who you are to become introduced to
others.
In my particular case, I always hope that there is one
person, listening-reading-or watching that is experiencing
PSYCHIC SYMPTOMS as I did for years and years of my life. Or
maybe someone "thinks" they had a visit from a
deceased loved one and my words help them to salute the
wonderful gift of a visit.
When you have someone call your office after a broadcast and
they tell you that something you just said really hit home to
help them understand something in their life...THAT is
magical!
So just let me - let you in on a secret.
Working on air, is nerve-racking!
There recompense of gratis work for the media is
knowing you may have helped a few people here and there,
silently. Just because they are tuned into the radio station
you
are on, reading the article you composed or learned something
new, from something you have always known.
That is cool.
But trust me, as most of life, there are those other sides of
the old yin and yang that come in when working in the front of
the media.
Did you know...when you are on tape, in front of the camera, the
lights are remarkably hot. You are receiving direction and
advice from several people.
Real people. Living people. Not to mention if you are psychic,
you are receiving the same direction and multitude of words from
them! LOL
When on camera...you are to look ahead, and act as though the
cameraman is not lying on his back at the base of your feet
filming. This has truly happened.
You must pay attention to the words you are using and which red
light is on which camera. Once you find the red light…DO
NOT LOOK AT IT!
You are adorned with microphones that will lace their way
under
your clothing. Yes, wires are placed under your clothes!
And guess what, someone you
barely know, will
place that microphone under your clothing... for you! =0
I have found, that no camera person or grip has fell head over
heels in love with me after garnishing me with mikes or filming
from a down low position.
(and that will also humble you!)
If you make it thru television...you can certainly make it thru
radio.
On air, you don't have to worry about faces, make up, or
cameras.
If you can hold that sneeze or burp for several minutes, you are
in business. The commercial will air and no one outside the
studio can hear a thing.
Give me radio any day if I have a preference!
The downside of radio? When on radio, you have little or no time
to choose your
sentence. Your statement is in stone before you have time to
sneeze.
As I mentioned... sneezing, coughing, MUST be held to a minimum
when on air! Dead air is collapse when doing radio. This...as
you can probably tell from my website filled with a million
zillion words...has never been a problem with me! Ask my friend
and colleague Jenifer!
Once we were on air with Randy Bruner of Waves of the New Age on
WAIF 88.3 FM. For a split second, no one spoke. What did I do?
Talk about...nothing. I went on for the next interval between
music about dead air and the fact that in my entire life, I
could not remember a time...when I was silent! =)
My ramblings...saved the day =)
When you are a featured return speaker, be it on a weekly
program or one shot deal...you must be there to present your
work. Sick, silly or
sad. The statement of “The show must go on” is true. Several
someone’s are depending on you inside that studio and
countless listeners have looked forward to your appearance! I
don't know about you, but when they disrupt "normal
broadcasting" to replace one of my favorite shows with interruption,
OH MY GOSH....my whole week is thrown off. I HAVE to watch The
Nanny before I go to bed or I CANNOT SLEEP. If it is Tuesday and
MTV's Real World or now...The Newlyweds are not on...then it
isn't TUESDAY! My days are orchestrated by what is on television
that night! In fact, I rarely book sessions between 2 and 5 pm
during the weekdays because of The Sharon Osbourne Show and
Oprah! This is my down time to eat, clear my thoughts and watch
my mid day shows!
I can barely tolerate when one of my shows is pre-empted. I
could never cancel on a scheduled appearance be it media or in
person events! In fact in all my years of doing readings
(knocking on wood here) I have cancelled one event!
Yes...one time I cancelled any type of event. Not a bad
ratio.
It is said that through hail and rain and snow your mailperson
will arrive.
So will your anchorperson on the late night news.
So will your
deejay on your favorite morning show.
Doing the years at Angel Waves, gave me a new respect for Howard
Stern. Where I may not agree with his format or line of
thinking…I admire his stamina and commitment. I know the work
that must go into his broadcast.
What I have learned dealing with the media, is that these are
people who love their work. What I have gathered from reading
for celebrities…they are indeed following their path.
I have an admiration for those in front of camera’s,
microphones and the public eye, that I would have never
understood without being their temporarily myself.
Now, let me give you some free advice and I will get serious.
When looking for a psychic, search for credentials you can
verify or your psychic can prove! How can you prove television
appearances, radio broadcast or print publication?
Google it! Where in the world would I be without my Google?
Do a Google on the name of the psychic, psychic company, or
whatever kind of reader you are looking for! If you want to make
sure the psychic reader you have in mind has actually appeared
in the media formats they speak of…find the website of the
shows, broadcasts, or publications the psychic states they
appeared in. Normally once you are on that website, you can
search the psychics name and find their article.
Because of copyright rules and regulations, we do have to use
caution when duplicating our work. So it may be illegal for us
to make a reproduction of our TV appearance or print work to
send. I don’t fully understand this, as long as credit is
given where credit is due. But because it is someone else’s
work, I honor their rules.
So lets total up why media credentials can be an important
quality for you, the consumer when selecting a psychic.
1) The media will select the best.
2) If your psychic has been invited for a return visit, all the
better. It means they shined during their first visit. Now this
does not mean if the potential psychic had only 1 visit to a
station or paper, they presented in a horrific manner. It may
mean that they were needed only once. The media takes attention
to psychic work, holistic ventures and the paranormal randomly.
It is still a taboo subject among the population and I know for
sure that sometimes a station (be it radio or TV) can take some
pretty critical feedback for allowing to appear.
Sad eh? Sad in the fact that free speech really isn’t all that
free. And that these guys get kicked for providing facts about
topics that may be of concern to those who listen or watch their
productions. But…they do.
Normally the biggest time of year for psychics is Halloween.
Which I am not crazy about simply because the work I do…is not
related to trick and treat or scary stuff. But you go where you
are called and hope you can change the face of observation.
3) When your prospective psychic has appeared within the media,
more than likely you can view a picture of the reader. This will
give YOU a better feel for the person you are trusting for
non-traditional counsel. It is vital that you select a psychic
that YOU feel comfortable with.
There is no specialized criterion in what to look for. As long
as YOU feel comfortable in their appearance. Personally, I like
a slightly chubby psychic! ;) ok … ok … just kidding again.
Weight, hair and eye color … does not make a psychic more or
less accurate.
4) Media credentials also highlight the areas of expertise for
YOUR psychic. As you browse the web, you will see sites where
the psychic seems to be practiced in anything and everything.
Their list of skills may include Astrology, Numerology,
Angelology, Dreams, Reiki, Transcendental Meditation and Zen
Mastery! Now…some of the advertised psychics are extremely
well versed in all areas. With time comes knowledge. When you
are in this field of Metaphysics, be it professionally or
personally, you want to learn all there is to learn! The
information is so amazing!
So it is possible that you are dealing with someone who has a
long history in the field of the psychic arts and they have
acquired astounding ability in the many methods of non
traditional healing and counseling. They are capable of
providing a multitude of services.
I tend to work best with psychic readings, pet readings, and
medium sessions because I am clairvoyant, clairaudient and
clairsentient.
Whereas I love to explore and research Astrology, Numerology,
Tai Chi, Feng Shui, and the list continues, I know a bit about
these types of readings. However, I do not consider myself
highly skilled in the areas. If I feel a client needs one of
these services, I can refer and recommend the practitioners I
have used.
Be aware that on a website, you can place anything you want to
be. On the Internet, you can become who it is you want to be.
Even I can become that long legged blonde with no children and a
modeling contract! The professional pictures posted on my
website are indeed me! With just a bit of airbrushing done to
the “fine” lines of time around my eyes!
Everything can be enhanced on the WWW. And sometimes things can
be belittled as well. Follow your heart when selecting someone
from non-traditional counseling to provide your reading. Follow
your heart. Look for the topics that are important to you. But
take time to make a wise decision. Don’t just pick up that
phone in a rush to bear your soul with a stranger that carries
the heading of psychic.
If you have stopped long enough to read this article, I don’t
think there will be a worry for you, in taking time.
Good luck on your search! May God Bless and the Angels Guide
you!
