Usher To Put Up "Facade"
Singer, actor and heartthrob Usher is planning on adding another line to his resume: screenwriter.
The R&B star is currently working (with a co-writer) on an original concept for a film titled "The Façade," which he describes as being in the vein of Prince's 1984 film "Purple Rain." Usher spoke about the title's meaning to the MTV Radio Network.
"As an artist, we all live up under something called a façade and that's basically what the story is about," he explained. "Us as entertainers and what we go through, the good and the bad, the great parts and the sad parts. We do have lives and you'll get a chance to see how they really play out."
Happily for fans of Usher's music, he also plans to record the soundtrack, further following Prince's "Purple Rain" example. Usher, of course, plans to star in the film as well, and hopes for production to begin in the late fall.
