My 7th great-grandfather, son of Samuel Magruder and Sarah Beall, was born May 18, 1694 in Prince George's County, Maryland. He married Susannah Smith, daughter of Nathan Smith and Elizabeth Coale, December 1, 1715 at St. Barnabas Episcopal Church, Queen Anne's Parish, Prince George's Co., Maryland.

In the name of God, Amen, I, John Magruder, of Prince George’s County, being in perfect mind and memory, do make and constitute this to be my last Will and Testament, and do dispose of my worldly goods which it hath pleased God to bless me with in the following manner, viz.:
Imprimus. I give and bequeath to my loving wife, Susannah, in lieu of her thirds of land two hundred acres called Bealsfast, as also the dwelling plantation which I now live on, together with all the land on the south side of the road that leads to Marlborough for and during her natural life. And after her decease, I give and bequeath the same to my son, Nathaniel, as also I give and bequeath to him, the said Nathaniel, all the remaining part of the tract of land where I now live called the Alexandria, containing two hundred and fifty acres, as also one hundred and twenty six acres being part of a tract of land called Beals Benevolence, and also one hundred acres of land, part of a tract of land called Greenwood, and also fifty two acres of land, Beals Purchase, which I bought of Col. Edward Sprigg, as also twenty five acres of land called Saplin Thicket to him and his heirs forever.
Item. I give and bequeath to my son, Nathan, the land he now lives on being part of a tract of land called Knaves Dispute and part of a tract of land called The Ridges containing one hundred and eighty acres, as also fifty acres of land being part of a tract of land called the Charles and Benjamin, as also one other tract of land called Knaves Dispute containing forty acres, as also one other tract of land called The Addition to Turkey Thicket containing forty acres to him and his heirs forever.
Item. I give and bequeath to my son, Zadock, one tract of land called Turkey Thicket containing three hundred and fifty acres, as also one tract of land called The Ridges containing seventy acres, as also one other tract of land called the Robert and Sarah containing one hundred acres, as also one negro man named York and one negro boy name Hercules, to him and his heirs forever.
Item. I give and bequeath to my daughter, Burgis, one piece of land that I bought of David Williams containing thirty acres or thereabouts to her and her heirs forever.
Item. I give and bequeath to my daughter, Cassandra, one hundred and six acres of land part of a tract called Chance, as also John Harbins bond for five thousand pounds of tobacco which he was to give me for two hundred acres of land called the Three Brothers. If he doth not pay the bond, I give and bequeath the said land to her, as also one young negro woman named Margery and one negro boy named David, to her and her heirs forever. Item. I give and bequeath to my daughter, Rebecca, the land that Burgis Mitchel now lives on being part of a tract of land called Goodluck containing two hundred acres as also two young negroes to be paid by my Executor when she arrives to the age of sixteen years or the day of marriage the youngest of the said negroes not to be less than ten years of age to her and her heirs forever.
Item. I have heretofore given by deed of gift all the goods that I may have in the store and all the debts relating thereunto at the time of my decease which I signify here as there may be no administration thereof made by my Executor.
Item. I give and bequeath all the remainder part of my estate after my wife’s third is taken out to be equally divided between my six children before mentioned, Nathan, Nathaniel, Zadock, Elizabeth, Cassandra, and Rebecca, and do constitute and appoint my son, Nathaniel Magruder, Executor of this my last Will and Testament in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 10th day of August 1750.

On the back of this Will was endorsed to wit on the 14th day of September 1750, Ninian Magruder, Sen., James Willet, and James Magruder, three of the subscribing witnesses to the within Will, being duly and solemnly sworn on the Holy Evangels of Almight God, depose and say that they saw the testator, John Magruder, sign the same Will and heard him publish and declare it to be his last Will and Testament that at the time of his so doing he was to the best of their judgement and apprehension of sound and disposing mind and memory and that they and the other witness, William Magruder, subscribed their names as witnesses thereto in the presence of the testator and at his request.
