JC stared out the window of the tour bus as they continued to make their way to the next city. Loneliness surrounded him like never before. He used to be able to handle being on the road fairly easy. That was until Ally came into his life. Almost the moment he met her he knew she was the woman he wanted to be with for the rest of his life. He met her through Jaimie, Lance’s girlfriend at the time, now she was his wife. Ally was one of Jaimie’s best friends. Lance threw a party at the end of their No Strings Attached tour. He met Ally that day. The moment he saw her he was blown away by her beauty. She stood about 5’9”, her golden skin looked so soft and inviting, dark brown hair cascaded down her back, but it was her amazing green eyes that captured him the most. He could see so much just by looking into her eyes. Mischief, innocence, honesty, she was the embodiment of everything he seemed to be looking for. But there was something in her eyes that puzzled him, he couldn’t quite put his finger on it. They remained together throughout the entire party. JC learned so much about her. She was a twenty year old single mother of twins. Ally told him her story, wanting JC to understand her more and what she had been through in her young life. Her son Joshua James and her daughter Alexandra Lynn were everything to her. She never knew the true meaning of unconditional love until her children were born. As they began to see each other, Ally confessed she had been afraid he wouldn’t want to see her anymore because of her children. JC knew she had probably been burned before by men who left her after finding out she had two children already, but he wasn’t that type of guy. He immediately fell in love with Ally’s children. The first time he saw them, they were only about nine months old, but they seemed to like him from the start. Just six short months after they met, JC asked Ally to marry him. Exactly a year to the day they met, Ally and JC exchanged their wedding vows in front of their best friends and closest family members. After a two week honeymoon in Italy, JC was off touring again with the guys. It was tough being away from her and the kids, but JC knew their popularity could only last so much longer....or so he thought. Two years later, he was still recording and touring with NSYNC. He was brought from his thoughts when he heard someone say they were at their hotel.

He called her on the road
From a lonely cold hotel room
Just to hear her say I love you one more time
And when he heard the sound
Of the kids laughing in the background
He had to wipe away a tear from his eye
A little voice came on the phone
And said "Daddy when you coming home"
He said the first thing that came to his mind

He quickly dialed those familiar numbers and waiting impatiently for her to pick up the phone. After four rings, she finally answered. He could hear laughter in her voice, “Hello?”

“Hey baby. It’s me.” he smiled just at the sound of her voice.

“Hi, sweetie. I was hoping you’d be calling me soon. I miss you.”

“Oh, you don’t know how much I wish I was there holding you right now. This touring is getting harder and harder for me to handle.” JC sighed heavily, burying his face in his hands.

“I know how much you hate being away from us. I know because I hate it as much as you do. Just remember no matter where you are, all you have to do is think of me and know I am there in your heart and you are here in mine. I love you so much JC.”

“I love you too Ally. I love you so much.” JC spoke softly, hearing two little voices giggling in the background.

“Josh, don’t tickle Alex like that. You know it always makes her laugh so hard she can’t breathe.” he heard Ally scolding him. “Daddy’s on the phone, do you want to come talk to him?”

“DADDY!!!” he heard them both exclaim, causing him to smile to himself. He loved those two kids as if they were his own. They both got on the phone, trying to talk to him at the same time.

“Whoa, wait a minute guys. Let’s do this one at a time okay.”

“Okay Daddy.” Alex began. “Guess what?”

“What’s that sweetie?”

“Mommy says Aunt Jaimie is going to have a little baby.”

“Really? That’s great news.”

“Daddy, when are you and Mommy gonna have a baby? I’m don’t want Alex anymore. I want a baby brother.” Josh pouted.

“Hey, I don’t want to hear anything like that from you Joshua. You better be behaving and treat your sister nicely do you hear me?”

“Yes sir.” he replied quietly.

JC knew he was hurt that he had just scolded him, “I miss you guys so much. You both know how much I love you don’t you?”

“We love you too Daddy.” Alex smiled into the phone.

“Daddy, when are you coming home?”

“I promise I will be home soon. Just a few more weeks. You know even though I’m not there beside you I am always with you. You two are always in my heart, and as long as you remember that then you’ll never be without me.”

“Okay, Mommy wants to talk to you again. Love you Daddy.” Alex said before handing her mother the phone back.

“Love you Daddy.” Josh said before hanging up the other line.

Ally smiled as they ran off playing again, “They really do miss you a lot too you know.”

“I know. I wish I was there with you guys right now.”

“We’re doing okay JC. I know if you could you would be here with us, but you’re doing what you have to do. You’ll be home soon.”

“Not soon enough for me. I think it’s time we give NSYNC a break. I mean all of us have families now. Lance and Jaimie are expecting their first, Chris and Valerie are planning their wedding, Justin and Athena just got engaged, Joey and Shannon are expecting their second any day now. I think it’s time we get to stop and enjoy our other lives.”

“JC,.....there’s something I need to tell you.”

“Nothing’s wrong is it?” JC asked, his voice filling with concern.

“No, nothings wrong. I’m pregnant.” Ally listened to silence for a moment before JC spoke.

“We’re gonna have another baby?”

“In about seven months or so.” Ally smiled, knowing how happy this made JC.

“Now more than ever I wish I was there to hold you and kiss you to celebrate. I’m so happy baby. I’m so very happy.”

“JC I can’t find the words to express to you how happy you’ve made me. You’ve brought so much into my life. I have so much to be thankful for.”

She got back on the phone
Said I really miss you darling
Don't worry about the kids they'll be alright
Wish I was in your arms
Lying right there beside you
But I know that I'll be in your dreams tonight
And I'll gently kiss your lips
Touch you with my fingertips
So turn out the light and close your eyes

“As much as I hate to, I need to go. We’ll be leaving for the arena soon. I love you baby. Give the kids a big kiss for me and give your belly a rub for me. I’ll be home soon.”

“I love you too JC. I can’t wait until you’re home. You’ll be in my dreams.”

“Mine too. Bye baby.”

JC softly hung up the phone with a smile on his face.

JC met the guys downstairs at the van. He couldn’t keep the smile off his face. The others looked over at him, not really knowing what was going on.

“Hey JC, get some good news?” Justin asked.

“You could say that. I got some very good news.” he continued to grin.

“What’s up?” Lance asked.

“Ally just told me she’s pregnant.”

“Congrats man.” all the guys gave him a hug.

“Thanks guys, I’m so happy.”

“Well, since you’ve announced yours I’ll announce mine. Jaimie and I are expecting too.” Lance grinned, receiving congratulations all around again.

“We’re all so very blessed in our lives you know. We all have wonderful women in our lives who love us as much as we love them. We have our own families. I...I think it’s time we take a break from NSYNC and be with our families.” JC looked around at the faces of his fellow bandmates who were more like brothers to him than friends. They were all silent for a moment.

Joey smiled, “Yeah, you’re right JC. We’ve had great success, but I’m ready to spend time with my wife and our children. We aren’t exactly youngin’s anymore.”

“So this is it? Our final tour?” Justin asked.

“For a while anyway.”

“As long as we remain close no matter what. You guys are my brothers. I don’t want to lose that.” Chris said.

“That will never happen.” Justin smiled. “We’ll always be here for each other.”

“No matter what.”
