What It Feels Like For A Girl

By:  Julie

It was, of course, the custom of one boyband, when in the same hotel or the same area of a city as another boyband, to give a too-damn-early wake-up call to a predetermined member of the other band. Which is why it was no surprise when the annoying ringing of a cell phone shook Joey from sleep.

The surprise came when he spoke, his voice coming out high. He wrote it off as a weird morning thing, not really caring, due to the earliness of the call. The real shock was the female voice on the other end, sounding terrified.

"Joey!" It said urgently, quietly, as though it were afraid to get above a whisper. Joey moved the phone away from his ear to look at the number. Why would a girl be calling from Nick Lachey’s cell phone? Calling him, no less.

That was when Joey noticed the curious absence of the tenting of the sheet over his good-morning hard-on. Then he noticed the breasts.

He shrieked.

"JOEY!" the person on the phone said. "Listen to me!"

Joey picked the phone back up and held it to his ear, yelling, "If you know what’s going on Lachey, you damn well better tell me!"

"Joey," the female voice continued, "I’m a girl."

"No shit, now let me talk to Nick." Joey snapped, almost freaking out.

"Joey, this IS Nick." The voice, now identified as Nicholas Lachey, explained. "I’m a GIRL."

"I’M A GIRL!" Joey shrieked. "WHAT did you DO to us!?"

"I don’t KNOW!" femme-Nick wailed. "I’m… I’m… JOEY! I don’t have a dick anymore!"

"Well, goddamnit, neither do I," Joey hissed. He was now on his feet and pacing the room.

"You better undo whatever you did Fatone."

"What I did?" Joey shouted. "This is YOUR fault!"

There was a sharp banging on the door at that moment.

"Joey?" Justin’s voice asked from the other side.

"Go away!" Joey shouted. Then he panicked. Justin couldn’t see him like this! "Nick! Nick, shit, Justin’s trying to get in here! What do I do?"

"Let him in?" Nick said, a note of duh in his voice.

"Nick," Joey said calmly, then raised his voice again. "I’m a GIRL!"

"Maybe Justin’s a girl too," Nick suggested. Joey snorted.

"He’s not."

"Come on Joe," Justin called. "Let me in. You have to hear about this!"

"About what?" Joey called through the door.

"Kevin Richardson turned into a girl!" Justin shouted.

Joey threw open the door, phone still held to his ear.

"Kevin WHAT?" Joey asked. Justin’s eyes bugged out.

"You’re a… you… you have… you’re…" He motioned helplessly at Joey. "You’re naked," Justin finally managed to get out.

"No I’m not," Joey said, then realized that, with no shirt on and the breasts that he had now, to Justin, he WAS naked. He slammed the door in Justin’s face to the sound of Nick laughing in his ear.

XxXxXx

As it turned out, there were five of them. Joey, Kevin, Nick Lachey, and Ashley Angel had spontaneously changed sexes overnight. The fifth was Pink, who had somehow turned into a boy.

The room that they were meeting in broke into pandemonium when the altered walked in.

The four men had turned into beautiful women, despite the jokes that Joey would make an ugly woman. They were ridiculously tall, true, but very beautiful. One remark made was that Kevin was an Amazon, which promptly sent Justin Timberlake into hiding in the bathroom, afraid that the tall, cut brunette would knock his head off.

Kevin had come into the room trying desperately to hide behind Nick Carter. It didn’t work, since Kevin was built like a female wrestler, tall and hard bodied, with heavy, short, dark hair hanging across his face. He declared that what he wore was the biggest that could be found for him in the Backstreet camp—and the shirt was still stretched taut, and the sweat pants were clinging to curvy hips.

Ashley, upon entering the room and seeing Kevin, had given the curvy woman a look of total disgust. Ashley, having been a cute, all-American athletic boy, was now a cute, all-American athletic girl, complete with long, silky blonde hair. He pouted and hunched his shoulders over in the presence of the other three new women, disappointed with their endowments and his lack thereof. Jacob had grabbed him and sat him down immediately, holding him in place to keep from hiding himself in embarrassment.

Nick Lachey had quickly pointed out that Ashley was lucky that his own clothes fit, and that he wasn’t stuck with clothes that were too tight over his chest, as Nick’s own were. There were only two words that could have been used to describe Nick, and , having had bad luck with the word Amazon previously, Justin made a second mistake of calling Nick butch. This did not go over well, and the ensuing scuffle ended with Justin lying on the floor begging for mercy as Nick threatened to scratch his eyes out. With frighteningly long nails, Joey noted.

Joey himself was normal looking. Well, normal in comparison to the elder two. He was classic movie star beautiful, even though some of his features had not moved into femininity well. His nose was still huge, he noted, and he was… well, he was fat. Especially standing next to the bodybuilders and scrawny cheerleader Ashley, Joey was fat. But he to a small bit of pride in that he was the only one of them actually dressed in women’s clothing.

Of course, nothing topped the looks of the new women as did those of Pink. Loudly dubbed Blue by the three remaining men of NSYNC—Nick had silenced Justin for a while, by tying his hands up with a rubber band and sticking a sock in his mouth—Alecia was one very, very short man. Her looks weren’t all that different from when she was a woman, because, Joey had whispered to Kevin, she sort of looked like a man to start with, didn’t she? Chris and Howie promptly celebrated that there was finally a man shorter than them.

"Change. Me. Back." She said, visibly shaking with anger. It was one thing to be a short girl, but quite another to be a five foot three man.

"How?" Kevin asked absently, picking at a string on his shirt. He was coping by spacing out, apparently.

"How the fuck should I know?" Pink shouted, getting up in his face. "All I know is that some how, this is YOUR damn fault!"

"Like I’m so fucking sure he wanted to change himself into a girl," Joey said. He was dealing the best with his new body, aside from being fat and having a big nose.

"Then maybe you did it," Pink said, turning on Joey.

"Maybe you should shut up," Ashley snapped. He’d given up on pouting over the fact that he was built like a boy with breasts and no dick and had leaned over into Jacob’s lap to pout. "Stupid bitch."

One thing that could be said for Ashley was that, as a girl, he was fearless. This may have had something to do with the fact that the person trying to intimidate him was almost a foot shorter than him, but he was brave nonetheless. Pink stuck her face up next to his.

"What did you say?" She asked, tones icy.

"I said shut up, stupid bitch," Ashley repeated, speaking slowly and deliberately as though she were stupid. "This isn’t any of our faults. None of us wanted this to happen."

"YOU DID IT DIDN’T YOU?!" Pink shouted. Ashley reached out and shoved her backwards.

"So what if I did," he asked, sitting up. "You can’t do shit about it, even if I HAD done this."

"STOP IT!" Nick shouted. "Just stop it. We have to figure this out."

"What’s to figure out?" Pink asked. "Get Ashley to change us back and we’ll be fine."

"Okay, will you listen dammit?" Jacob said. "Ashley didn’t do this. I know that."

"Yeah, right," Pink said. "Maybe he wanted to be a girl so that you would fuck him."

"I didn’t need to be a girl for that," Ashley replied.

And for once the room was silent.

XxXxXx

It turned out that Ashley was the most difficult to shop for.

For some reason, clothing manufacturers assumed that women who were six feet tall had big breasts and wide hips. This annoyed Ashley to extremes, and had him throwing jeans and tee-shirts at everyone who dared to hand him anything. Alecia watched, amused, because Ashley was so pissed off. For her, it was like revenge for the things that he’d said.

Chris came to Ashley’s rescue, saying that he could wear Fu Man Skeeto clothes, or that he could dress like a boy. Since they discovered that nothing in the Fu Man Skeeto line fit Ashley—and this was something that was becoming quite annoying to the new girl—he had to opt for dressing like a boy. Luckily, that was a style that worked for him.

"You should be like, a group or something," Chris suggested over lunch. The four women stared at him, and Pink snorted.

"Yeah, that’s great," Pink said. "They can be called the Amazons."

"That wouldn’t be too bad, actually," Chris said. Pink rewarded him with a look of disgust. "But can they sing?"

XxXxXx

Oh, they could sing.

Unfortunately, Nick and Ashley had conflicting diva attitudes from constantly being the center of attention in their groups, and spent a large portion of the time they spent working on their singing arguing. Loudly. Finally, Chris told them they could shut up and sing or Joey and Kevin would be doing all the work. It was an effective silencer.

And once again, Pink was shoved into the background, as she’d often been as a girl. A loud, outgoing girl was found sexy by lots of guys, but a loud, outgoing guy got annoying. She finally realized that she should keep her mouth shut and watch more than she should open it. Watching short little Chris in the midst of the four tall, beautiful women was a source of humor all it’s own.

The only thing that annoyed all of them collectively—well, Joey, Nick, Kevin, and Alecia—was that Ashley seemed to be the only one capable of picking anyone up. Chris told them that it was because they were intimidating—and because Alecia was a midget—that they couldn’t pick guys up. That sent them all into an anti-Ashley rage.

Ashley was oblivious to all this. He seemed to not notice the fact that men were falling all over themselves to get to him.

"I don’t get it," He said.

"What’s not to get," JC told him. Ashley had taken to spending time away from his own band, because it was uncomfortable to suddenly be a girl, and them to still be guys. Truthfully, he was afraid to face Jacob any more, since he was a girl and not a guy.

"Why guys are always hitting on me," Ashley replied. "I’m built like a guy."

JC sighed. "Angelica," he said, finding himself unable to use any name for Ashley other than the feminine one that he’d been issued by Theresa, one of the people brought in to help in the crisis, "You may be built like a guy, but you’re absolutely beautiful."

"But I’m not…" Ashley said. "Joe and Nick and Kev are beautiful. I’m just… I’m like, a little girl next to them."

"But they’re intimidating," JC explained. "You’re a girl that a guy would want to be with."

This had Ashley smiling. Until JC leaned forward and kissed him.

XxXxXx

Joey came skidding into Kevin’s room half-dressed far too early one morning.

"Ashley punched JC out!" Joey squealed. Kevin sat up quickly.

"He what?" Kevin asked.

"He what?" Nick Carter asked, his voice muffled by the pillow he had his face buried in.

"JC kissed Ashley and Ashley knocked him off his barstool," Joey explained.

Kevin burst into giggles, and Joey hurried off down the hall to the next room, bearing his story to the next person, as Nick pulled Kevin back down into the blankets. Joey seemed to not have noticed.

"NICK!" Joey said, going into the next room. "Ashley—"

Joey froze.

Nick was well tangled in the bed with Justin. Justin, who had called Nick butch and been tied up with a rubber band for it. In bed with Nick, who had stuffed a sock in Justin’s mouth. Joey couldn’t back out of the room fast enough.

And he didn’t. He slammed into Alecia in the hallway.

"Hey, fuck off," She said.

Joey waved wildly at the room.

"Yeah, it’s a hotel room," Alecia said, a little obnoxiously.

"Nick. And Justin. Are. Um." Joey said.

"Yeah, I know," Alecia replied. "You should have heard the screams."

Joey stared at her wide-eyed. Then he grinned. And she grinned.

And then she led him down the hallway to her room.

XxXxXx

The change back was as spontaneous as the change itself had been. None of them were really expecting it, much less prepared for it.

When he changed back, Nick was tangled around Justin, in Justin’s bed. When Nick realized that he once again sported a penis, he let out a cry of joy, awakening his bed partner. Justin looked at him in total disgust for a split second, then shoved his tongue down Nick’s throat.

When they changed back, Joey and Pink were still in bed together. It had been rather strange for them to work together when both weren’t their original sex. Alecia was the first to realize what had happened, and set to frantically groping the sheets, feeling Joey up to make sure that what she thought had happened had really happened. Joey’s celebration was to fuck her as a man.

Kevin woke up next to Nick. Nick who was looking at him sadly. Kevin then realized what had happened. Nick shrugged and climbed from the bed, pulling on his clothes and leaving the room. Kevin sighed. He knew it was a one time only affair. Boy on woman. He knew that Nick didn’t swing that way. But it had felt good while it had lasted.

Ashley was the only one that woke alone. After the incident with JC, the rest of the guys had been afraid to come anywhere near him. He hadn’t really meant to punch JC, he just hadn’t been ready for that. There was a soft knock then, and the door opened.

"Ash?" a soft voice asked.

"Yeah," Ashley said in a croaky voice, strained with tears.

"The other’s were back, so I assumed that you…"

"I’m me Jake," Ashley said. He sat up and smiled. "I’m me."

Jacob all but dove into the bed with him.

XxXxXx

Joey was disgusted to hear the screams coming from Ashley’s room. But what did he expect? That really wasn’t any different from Justin and Nick—Lord knew what they were doing in THAT room—or from himself and Alecia.

But even if it was a little weird, it was okay.

Things were always a little different after a change. Some things were permanent, like the feelings in the relationships that were formed, or the feelings that came between two friends, as Kevin and Nick had. But then, some bonds were made stronger by the absence.

But Joey devoutly, sincerely—whatever kind of words he could think of to say how strongly he felt—hoped that he NEVER ever again turned into a girl.
