- all about X-animation -

The animated series was when my obsession for Wolverine began. Every Saturday, on Channel 36... man, those were good times.
Anyway, there's plenty of cool stuff you should know about the cartoon incarnations of the X-Men. So here ya go.

- History -
"X-Men: The Animated Series" began airing in 1992 and tragically stopped in 1998. Those were six great years, huh? During that time, there were 76 episodes, all shown on Fox, and we praise the folks at Fox mightily for providing us with such wonderful entertainment. Of course, we must also thank the following people:
The directors, Dan Hennessey (who was also voice director), Larry Houston, Graham Morris and Karen Peterson; producer Larry Houston; storyboard artist Larry Houston; and story editor developer Eric Lewald.

Due to movie-generated hype, Fox is re-airing the show, I believe at 12:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Well, I've got my VCR set, eh.

The WB also has a brand spankin' new series lined up for us, called "X-Men: Evolution," which is basically the Dawson's Creek version of the animated series... or something like that.

It features our beloved heroes as teenagers, except Storm and Wolverine, who are their teachers (?) and Mystique who is their... principal?? What??!! Well, OK, I'll have to check this out. It's scheduled to begin on November 4, at 11:30 a.m. and will continue to air every Saturday at 11:30.
I sure hope it doesn't suck.

- Cast -
"X-Men: The Animated Series" featured Cal Dodd as Wolverine, George Buza as Beast, Norm Spencer as Cyclops, Chris Potter as Gambit, Catherine Disher as Jean Grey, Kenore Zahn as Rogue, Alison Sealy and Iona Morris as Storm, Alyson Court as Jubilee and Cedric Smith as Professor X. I love them all.

this was probably unsatisfactory for you, but you can get more cartoon stuff at
