While all members receive a packing list, these are items that either need emphasized or are not on the list. ***Your binder needs to have AT LEAST a three inch spine because you will receive approaximately 60 pieces of music. This is the best way to keep music. If you have a three hole punch it would also be a good idea to bring. You will receive quite a bit of music when you register the 28th. Having a three hole punch gets your music in your binder faster and you will also be everyone's hero in near vicinity. ***stationary, we write nice notes to our friends at the end of the fair, nice to have met you, keep in touch, blah, blah, blah *** Cough drops (non menthol, just say no to halls and yes to ludens) Menthol causes your vocal chords to swell causing extra damage if your throat hurts already. You throat may get a little sore after singing 8 hours a day 5 straight days during rehearsal week. Also, we can't keep food in the dorms so ludens work as candy. (They have no medicinal value what so ever but they get the moisture to your throat which is why we use cough drops anyway. ***A GOOD water bottle. Bigger is better. During rehearsal week I would drink approaximately 6 quarts of water a day. We spend A LOT of time outside rehearsing in tents. You will hear "Drink water" a lot over the next several weeks trust me, but do it! ***Band aids, a pillow, and shout wipes- these are IMPORTANT things to have in case of blisters, stains on clothing, and while pillows sound stupid to emphasize, my bunkmate forgot hers last year. ***Another way to become everyone's hero is by bringing Fabreeze. It is like a spray bottle fabric softner. We have air conditioning in the dorms so we can't open windows and with 60 wet towels and multiple uniform parts drying from doing laundry in the sinks it can get kind of smelly Fabreezing your area really helps the smell as a whole. *** A real GOD SEND as far as dorm life is concerned is a plastic or canvas hanging shelving unit. You can hang it from the hangers bar that goes around the dorm room. If you get a plastic one you also may be able to set it on the floor by your bunk. This gives you A LOT more room to store stuff. While you can only keep ONE footlocker, trunk in the room, you can bring some clothing in a suitcase and put it on the shelves. You can get these at like Target, Bed, Bath and Beyond, Wal Mart, about any store at that variety. ***Other highlights include: a footlocker, sheets, towels (at least 1 per week PLEASE), unscented deoderant, sunglasses, a camera, and money.
