This section is more about the first couple of episodes....

Fushigi Yuugi is story about two junior high school students- Miaka and Yui. Before the exams, Yui asked Miaka to come to the library with her. In the library a book shone. The girls started to read the book. It talked about the Miko (priestess) who searches for the seven seishi (protectors) to gain the power by summon a god and gain 3 wishes. Miaka and Yui both got transported into the book. They were going to be attacked when a young man saved their lives and asked them for money.They had none, so the man left them. Both Yui and Miaka fell in love with that young man. Yui got transported back into her own world and reads about Miaka's journey.

Miaka tried to find the young man and was tricked by these nasty people, then the young man reappeared and saved her again. He said he hated poor people and was walking away. Miaka leeched until he gave up and introduce himself- Tamahome. He has a character on his forehead. Miaka says she was looking for Yui so Tamahome (pronounced as Ta-ma-ho-may) brought her to the palace of Konan. They had a big struggle to get in. A 'beautiful young woman' who Miaka thought was one invited her in and gave her a meal (Miaka is a real pig mind you). Then later on the 'beautiful lady' turns out to be the emperor disguised! After series of explaination, Miaka was asked to take in the role of the Suzaku No Miko, she accepted. (By the way, the emperor is a seishi- Hotohori, One of my faves)Not long afterwards Yui got sucked into the book and became the Seiryuu No Miko and the two friends became enemies. Their task is to find all their Seishi to gain the power of their god Yui-Seiryuu, Miaka-Suzaku. "The lengend begins to stir..."

MORE INFO?   *SPOILER!*

Miaka Falls in love with Tamahome. Tamahome loved her back. Hotohori wuvs Miaka too even though he knew he cannot have her(He did propose, Miaka rejected and he understood the reason). Nuriko wuvs Hotohori but at the end half of the story, he went back to his senses- slowly being a man and started to fall in love with Miaka although he told Tamahome not to worry that he wanted them to be together(Some people do get sick of this "everyone loves Miaka" stuff).Yui love Tamahome and tried to break Miaka and him apart cuz she couldn't have him even though she used many methods, 'LLOOVVEEE' cannot be obstructed. Suboshi luvz Yui, His brother loves Miaka later, Soi luvz Nakago..... So a huge Love triangle have occurred....Can be VERY confusing!!

                PERSONAL REFLECTION                 

How I knew FY:
I was on a holiday and I couldn't sleep when I was Asia. I was so bored in the morning (time difference) that I turned on the Tv and saw Fushigi Yuugi. I reckon the illustration was quite good and was immediately drawn into it, it's music was GREAT! I continued watching it for 5 days and was hooked on it! But the bad news is that I had to leave....I was MAJOURLY DISAPPOINTED!...Thankfully, one day I hanged around LELOLA and saw a familiar image of Yui...I was SOOOO HAPPY that I learnt it's Jap/Eng name (difference from Chinese) and so now I can learn more about it online as I know where to look^.^. THANKS LELOLA!! FY IS AWESOME and I'll give it a 10/10!^^ Story a little confusing,But other than than that, it's brilliant^^ (Has a bit of the physical sides sometimes... so not quite suitable for 12 years and under)
Bought the Anime in 2005!! WAS GREAT!! And watching it 5 years later on is a different (still sugoi) experience!!
