Rigs cont.

Basic fixed

This is a "fixed" rig meaning the sinker is fixed on the main line and doesnt "slide" on the line like some of the other rigs ive showed already . This is still a very good rig and you can like some of the other rigs, run a heavy line hook leader(of your choice & length) and a light line leader to the sinker(of your choice & length). These swivels can be found just about anywhere and work great. Again leader lengths to hook and to sinker all depends on amount current and bait type & size. Just attach your hook leader to one loop, your sinker leader to the 2nd and your main line to the 3rd loop .

Float Rig

This rig is an easy way for those who want to "pop" thier baits up off the bottom. A float(size depends on again current and bait size) can be added to all the rigs we have talked about..but works the best with the 3-way styles of rigs. Some anglers feel that if your bait is laying flat on the bottom, its harder for the cats to pick up and smell? I dont feel this way and figure if you have good bait, weather it be a live bait or a fresh oily cut-bait such as Skipjack herring or Shad and cats are in the area..the current will take the baits scent down stream to these cats and bring them to your bait easily. A cat fishes scense of smell is way higher than any other fishes scense of smell in our waters, except for CARP. If they are loking to eat and you got good bait in the water, you'll catch cats! This is just another option to try incase the fish are in a med.-neutral mood and dont want to hit.Always have different options ready just incase is what i say.
