MIXER NOTES ON CRISPY'S CRITTERS
COMING UP FOR AIR ...
It must be hard to write a song about your own heart attack, but he did! I had
"In The Air Tonight" aspirations for this mix.
ELEANOR RIGBY ...
The only way to cover a Beatles song is to take it somewhere totally different;
Loopy nailed it
ONE GOOD DAY IN A ROW ...
A case of a great song meets great musicianship.
VICODIN & PRAYER ...
Yes, its dark, but sometimes things need to be said and around this time "Loopy"
took on a second meaning as he started bulilding some really Intricate loops to record to
the baby monitor for taking the mix over the top.
WHAT WOULD FRANK DO ...
This is one of the most out of the box songs ever. Loopy and Wacky wrote
this one long distance with each not knowing what other was going to do. Soon after
picture of Old Blue Eyes and pasted a thought over his head that said, "What would"
and sent it to him.
EYEBALL KID ...
The king of weird tracks. Great production on the ulimate one-chord track; Loopy does
covers real good!
THE CURVES OF BRATENAHL ...
Every young boy remembers his first time for the mystery dance.
LAP DOGS DANCE ...
A commentary on the Bush years.
HOW MANY GUITARS DO YOU NEED ...
A commentary on the 1%.
BREAKING DOWN ...
Here's where the nepotism comes in. My son Michael was recording some cool
tracks but having trouble writing lyrics. I suggested sending some to Loopy to see if anything pushed
his buttons. This one did so much that he recorded it himself
UPTOWN ...
This track always takes me to Spanish Harlem: pretty coal for white boys in the suburbs.
LAST GOOD NERVE ...
I consider this one of the best mixes I've ever done ... Its controlled chaos to the max.
