Help!
--words and music by John Lennon / Paul McCartney

from "Friends & Legends", 1973, MCA Records

When I was younger, so much younger than today,
I never needed anybody's help in any way.
But now those days are gone, I'm not so self assured,
Now I find I need you back, I've opened up the door...

Help me if you can, I'm feeling down
	  Help
And I do appreciate you being round
Help me, get my feet back on the ground,
	Won't you please help me.
	Won't you please help me.

And now my life has changed in oh so many ways,
My independence seems to vanish in the haze.
But every now and then I feel so insecure,
Now I know I need you like I've never done before...

Help me if you can, I'm feeling down
	  Help
And I do appreciate you being round.
Help me, get my feet back on the ground,
	Won't you please,
	Won't you please help me.
	Won't you please help me.
	Won't you please help me.
	Won't you please help me.

A friend of mine played it for Lennon once who told him that this was the way he had originally written the song... And just to keep a balance in the universe, my royalties have been slower than his were...
