I'm Gonna Move to the Outskirts of Town
Ray Charles, "Genius + Soul = Jazz", 1960
--words and music by W. Wilson

from "The Farrago Sessions", 2006, LineLevel Music

We gonna move way out on the outskirts of town
Yeah gonna move baby, way out on the outskirts of town
Cause we don't need nobody always hangin' 'round

Now I tell ya something honey, gonna move away from here
We don't need no iceman, gonna buy you a Frigidaire
When we move way out on the outskirts of town
We don't need nobody always hangin' 'round

Let me talk to you for a minute

Now it may seem funny honey, funny as can be
If we have a dozen children, they all better look like me
When we move way out on the outskirts of town
Cause we don't need nobody always hangin' 'round

We gonna move way out on the outskirts of town
Say gonna move baby way out on the outskirts of town
Cause we just don't need nobody always hangin' 'round

I'M GONNA MOVE TO THE OUTSKIRTS OF TOWN (W. WELDON) I FIRST HEARD THIS ONE ON A RAY CHARLES'S GREATEST HITS ALBUM ON ABC-PARAMOUNT (RELEASED I MIGHT ADD, IN "FULL COLOR FIDELITY") AND SOMETHING ABOUT IT JUST HIT ME RIGHT FROM THE GET-GO RAY'S VERSION HAS A VIBE AND A KILLER HORN CHART THAT I FOUND FAR TO DAUNTING TO TRY AND RE-CREATE SO I OPTED FOR THIS MORE "STRAIGHT AHEAD" VERSION. I WOULD, HOWEVER, SUGGEST THAT YOU TRY AND FIND RAY'S VERSION: IT'S WELL WORTH THE SEARCH
