I-280 UNDER
CONSTRUCTION FROM I-75 TO NAVARRE AVENUE (OH-2) FOR NEW BRIDGE
At the end of NB I-280 sits this gantry. Since the END I-280 sign, which was located 1 mile south of here was removed, this pretty much serves as the substitute for an END sign. This style of gantry is very unique and was put in in conjunction with the ongoing construction of the Veterans Memorial Skyway Bridge and its approaches. Thank you very much to Dan Garnell for the submission of this picture, taken on October 30, 2002. |
ODOT, while reconstructing the freeway, has erected new gantries for the BGS (Big Green Signs). This a full gantry located at the Manhattan Boulevard exit (EXIT 12). There is temporary green-out on the far left BGS. The lane to use to exit onto I-75 SB is still blocked until (I believe) the construction with the interchange is completed in 2003. If you look in the background, you can see the BGS marking the I-75 split, which is another 1/4 mile ahead. This picture is another shot of the above gantry, only it was taken from I-280. Thank you very much to Dan Garnell for the submission of this picture, taken on October 30, 2002.

This picture, taken from the Central Avenue overpass, shows the gantry for the Greenbelt Parkway exit. Currently, there is green-out on the I-280 BGS on the right hand side of the sign. There will be a third arrow on the sign once the widening is completed on the Greenbelt Parkway overpass and through the "trench" up to the Maumee River. |
