Mohican Valley Trail

Official Website: Knox County Convention & Visitors Bureau

The Mohican Valley Trail is a multi-use (bike, blade, horse, buggy) nature trail built on an abandoned Penn Central railroad bed at the eastern edge of Knox County. This trail is 4.8 miles long and connects the villages of Brinkhaven and Danville. It is joined to the Holmes County Trail to the east and the Kokosing Gap Trail to the West. It is a part of the planned Ohio to Erie Trail. Click here to see a map of the trail.

In Brinkhaven the trail crosses the beautiful Mohican River through a 370' coverd bridge, the "Bridge Of Dreams". The "Bridge of Dreams" is the longest covered bridge in Ohio, and the second largest in the United States. It was dedicated on April 17, 1999, with Congressman Ralph Requla as the keynote speaker.

The Mohican Valley Trail was officially opened at the Danville-Howard Turkey Festival on June 15, 2001.

Parking & Trail Access: There is parking in Danville on Tiger Valley Road (off Mickley Road), at Buckeye Road and at the Bridge of Dreams. Additionally, there are primitive restrooms and picnic areas at both the Bridge of Dreams, and at the park in Danville.
