The Book of Psalms 23

23-The Lord is my Shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down
in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth
my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will
fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort
me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies;
thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness
and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in
the house of the Lord for ever....Amen.

The Gospel of Matthew 3:16

16-As soon as Jesus was baptized, he went up out of the water.
At that moment heaven was opened, and he saw the Spirit of God

descending like a dove and lighting on him.

The Gospel of Luke 22:17-20

14-When the hour came, Jesus and his apostles reclined at the table.

15-And he said to them, "I have eagerly desired to eat this Passover
with you before I suffer.

16-For I tell you, I will not eat it again until it finds fulfillment
in the kingdom of God."

17-After taking the cup, he gave thanks and said, "Take this and
divide it among you.

18-For I tell you I will not drink again of the fruit of the vine
until the kingdom of God comes."

19-And he took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them,
saying, "This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me."

20-In the same way, after the supper he took the cup, saying,
"This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you.

The Gospel of John 3:16-17

16-For God so loved the world that he gave his
only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in
him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

17-For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn
the world, but that the world through him might be saved.

"T'was the Night Before Jesus Came"

T'was the night before Jesus came and all through the house
not a creature was praying, not one in the house.
Their bibles were lain on the shelf without care,
in hopes that Jesus would not come there.

The children were dressing to crawl into bed,
not once ever kneeling or bowing a head.
And mom in her rocker with baby on her lap,
was watching the late show while I took a nap.

When out of the east there arose such a clatter,
I sprang to my feet to see what was the matter.
Away to the window I flew like a flash, tore
open the shutters and threw up the sash.

When what to my wondering eyes should appear,
but angels proclaiming that Jesus was here!
With a light like the sun sending forth a bright ray,
I knew in a moment this must be the day.

The light of His face made me cover my head,
it was Jesus returning just like He had said.
And though I possessed worldly wisdom and wealth,
I cried when I saw Him in spite of myself.

In the "Book of Life" which He held in His hand,
was written the name of every saved man.
He spoke not a word as He searched for my name;
when He said "it's not here," my head hung in shame.

The people whose names had been written with love,
He gathered to take to His Father above.
With those who were ready, He rose without a sound,
while all the rest were left standing around.

I fell to my knees, but it was too late;
I had waited too long and thus sealed my fate.
I stood and I cried as they rose out of sight;
oh, if only I had been ready tonight.

In the words of this poem the meaning is clear,
the coming of "Jesus" IS drawing near.
There's only one life and when come the last call,
we'll find that THE BIBLE, WAS TRUE AFTER ALL!!
