Episode Twelve: Advantages

Day Thirty-Four
In Cole’s Face
It was definitely an awkward morning at the Air Tegrin camp. Olivia, Kyle and Babette woke up and decided to take the boat out for some fishing on the vast sea as the sun slowly rose above the horizon. This left Mick and Cole on the beach and, for once in their time on the island, they avoided having to talk to each other. Mick reflected on the awkwardness when he said in a confessional, “After the three Matahari members left I felt like an outcast with Cole next to me. I was angry with him for voting off Emily and I knew he was angry with me for trying to vote him off. Neither one of us were happy about what we did, but I knew that eventually we’d need to talk to each other again to get some sort of advantage again in this game.”

Cole sat on the beach watching the pot of water placed over the fire boil. Mick comes up to Cole and decides it’s time for the two to talk. Mick sits next to Cole and for a few minutes says nothing. He finally made the first move with a simple, yet intense, “Hey.” Cole looked over at Mick and gave him a very stressed face. Cole then looked back at the pot of water as Mick talked some more. “Look Cole, I don’t like what you did last night. I don’t like how you lied like a rat to get Emily voted off.”

Cole replied with, “I was just playing the game.”

“I realize that,” Mick answered. “Look Cole, I know you don’t like me right now and to be honest I don’t like you right now. But if we went a Bulan to win this game we need to stick together and do something. We need to split up their votes!”

“That’s not going to happen Mick. The only way I’ll win is if I keep winning immunities, the only way you’ll win is if you keep winning immunities.”

Mick gave Cole a look that reflected the sad feelings Mick felt inside. Cole returned this look. Mick said, “Cole this isn’t over until we say it’s over. We can’t give up. You and I are the only ones left. I don’t like how you played the game and I’m sure you don’t like how the game unraveled for you but we’re the only two from our tribe left and if we want to do our tribe happy we should definitely try to bond together and win.”

“Mick, I agree with you but there’s no use! Kyle and Olivia and Babette would never vote for each other. They’re all good friends.”

Babette's Confesional

“But Babette’s been really sick lately, perhaps they’ll vote her out because of that,” Mick told Cole.

Cole replied: “They don’t care about her health. They wouldn’t risk the chance of evening out the odds, they’re too greedy. Frankly Mick, one of us is going to go at Tribal Council and I know if I don’t win immunity it will be me.”

Health Issues
Five members in the game were left: Babette, Olivia, Mick, Kyle and Cole. Unfortunately, only four of these members had decent health the other member (Babette) was sick out of her mind. From the time they started the trek out to Tribal Council to vote out Emily, Babette began to violently cough. Now, nearly a day later, Babette continues to be sick and what began as just violent coughing escalated into hacking up blood.

Mick’s feelings on Babette: “I love Babette to death, she’s a sweet girl but I think her health is a major issue here. I know she won’t be voted out but maybe Cole and I can play it up to get her out.”

Babette’s Confessional: “I really want to play this game with everyone and I think I have the potential to win this. I know I’m really sick, and I regret my fate getting me this sick but I really believe that, well, I’m a target now. Olivia would never vote against me but who knows what Kyle would do!”
