Episode Twelve: Advantages

Reward Challenge
The five remaining Survivors got their Tree Mail for the next Reward Challenge and they all pondered at what could possibly be held in store for them. In the rhyme there was a small innuendo hinting at a major reward for whoever won this challenge. Kyle, Olivia and Babette were hoping to God it would be some sort of food reward while Mick and Cole wanted a voting award that could help them last longer in the game. The five Survivors met on Challenge Beach where the two Hosts met and informed them about the challenge.

“This challenge is fairly simple,” Chris (Host) told the castaways. “To win the reward you must run over to the pile of bamboo across the beach and in that pile search and claim three gold rods. In all there are only nine gold rods in the pile, and since it takes three to win, you may have to negotiate to win the challenge. And this reward is an extra juicy reward that you’ll be dying to have. The reward is you get the soul vote at the next Tribal Council.”

An evil grin spread across Cole’s face as he heard what the reward was. He thought it was his way to get him to the Final Four and he figured this reward was more important than immunity. So on the sound of the Host’s “Go!” he sprinted off to the bamboo pile and searched for gold rods. However, he was not successful in retrieving any while Babette managed quite well to find two right off the bat. A determined Cole, however, did not give up and located three gold rods before anyone else did and won the reward.

Day Thirty-Five
Are You Still Here?
“Yesterday was unbelievable,” Olivia said in a confessional. “Everything was so unusual. At first, Babette and Kyle and I were very pleased that we gained an advantage again in the game, then Babette’s health issues climaxed when she started to cough up blood. Finally in an incredibly quick Reward Challenge Cole wins the soul vote in his chance to vote somebody out? I couldn’t believe it at all. It was all going so well and now I know that Kyle, Babette or myself is going at the next Tribal Council. The scary thing is I have no idea who he’ll choose.”

“I can’t believe my luck! I wanted some sort of power and way to get back in the game, and I got it! I am dumbfounded, because I have the soul vote at Tribal Council. I get to get rid of Babette or Olivia, because God knows they both can’t win immunity. If I had to choose, I’d get Olivia off in a heartbeat because that girl did absolutely nothing to get to this point in the game. I mean, Olivia’s a sweetheart but has she ever had a strategy? Has she ever planned ahead or did she ride people like Ruben and Babette the entire way? I think that she should have been voted out pre-merge instead of Marco or Cecely. Well, all I can be sure of is that if she doesn’t win immunity I am going to boot her ass out of the game and that’s a fact.”

The five Survivors sat down around the campfire with an uneasy tension. Babette, Kyle and Olivia who had once gloated and acted incredibly conceited about their advantage in the game had been shunned down once again to not having the privileges for any advantages at all. Mick and Cole both knew that one another was safe while the three Matahari members were all frightened that they may get the boot. Kyle talked to Babette: “Babette, do you think it could be you?”

“I don’t know, I mean it could be any one of us three but I think if he were to choose somebody he’d oust Olivia. She’s a strong willed and easily liked person and could be a threat. For me, I’m sick and I probably won’t win any challenges and for you, well you don’t come off as a threat to him either,” Babette responded.

“I completely understand your logic, but I’m afraid she’ll win immunity and get me voted out instead of her,” Kyle told her. “If you had to choose someone to stay, me or Olivia, who would you choose?”

Babette stumbled upon answering, but she said, “Olivia. It’s just because if it were between you two to win, I’d rather see her win than you because she’s played a more honest game. No offense, Kyle I still love you more than anything.”

Kyle smiles at her sweetly and says, “I know, but I don’t think Cole does.”

Babette joked around: “I know Asher does!”
