Episode Thirteen: In The End . . . What Matters?

Day Thirty-Seven:
The Final Four
After the previous Tribal Council, sixteen castaways were narrowed down to four individuals: Olivia, Kyle, Mick and Cole. Throughout the entire game, Olivia was a strong willed and bright thinker and managed to strategize but while doing so stay underneath the radar and come off to others as the sweetheart. For a long time, she didn’t come off as a threat until she began to win challenges with her stored vigor as others’ energy was depleted. As for Kyle, his game was very mixed. In the beginning, he was the all-around nice guy that seemed to be neutral in all affairs but once his existence in the game was threatened he immediately betrayed his tribe. This angered many of the Matahari members, but they didn’t fret too much for they needed Kyle for future votes. Kyle seemed to gain the Matahari members’ trust again when he and them were successful in outnumbering the Bulans. Mick seemed to play an incredible game as the strategist, where he was always thinking and always planning ahead. Mick was a strong person in the beginning of the game, but instantly realized the bond between the Four Horsemen and did all he could to split them up. However, when he was to make his move, the switch occurred and his strategy told him to wait, and in the end his waiting paid off when the Bulan Four alliance was split up, and he got himself a seat in the Final Four. Cole played the most controversial game as the villain. Though it was incredibly deceiving and fascinating to watch, he lied to and betrayed many of his tribe mates. These four individuals, each with a different strategy and personality, are now sitting as the Final Four. Two will be voted out, one will win runner-up and one will win!

Two Different Pacts
“So, what do you thinks going to happen at the next Tribal Council?” Kyle asked Olivia.

Olivia in a Confessional

“It’s going to be a two on two vote, two votes for one of us two votes for one them,” Olivia said. “And it sucks because I know for a fact it will end up with a random ousting by pulling colored rocks.”

“Yeah, most likely it will end up that way,” Kyle responded. “Do you think we can convince Cole or Mick to vote against each other?”

“I highly doubt it,” Olivia told Kyle. “I mean, if you think about it that would be just another stupid thing to do on their part. They’d rather have two in the Final Three rather than only one.”

Olivia later in a confessional says: “I’m so excited and glad that I made it this far. My goal all along was to make the Jury because I wanted to have a say in which person won and it worked because I aligned with Babette and Ruben and I managed to get myself this far. After Ruben was voted out, I thought I would be gone soon after, but I managed to stick around and at that time I wanted to reach the Finals. Now that I managed to reach the Finals, I’m proud of myself because this was the hardest game I’d ever have to go through and I look up to myself for managing to make it this far.”

Kyle talks to the camera: “Right now, it’s me and Olivia against Cole and Mick. I don’t know where Cole and Mick got their alliance from, but they’re definitely aligning to the very end, and at the next Tribal Council it’s going to be a tie for sure. I actually thought about joining Cole to get to the Final Two together and perhaps voting out Olivia, but I can’t do that to Matahari again because then I would not get one single vote in the Final Two. I seriously think that I have strength to win any immunity that comes up and that I’ll be able to make it to the Final Two, but if I don’t I don’t care because I learned so much from this game and it’s incredible how inspired I feel.”

Camera pans to Cole talking to Mick. “So we’re in this to the very end, right Mick? You and I are going to get the Final Two?”

Cole In A Confessional

“Definitely,” Mick told Cole. “I know that we haven’t gotten along too much in the game but I think that we need to set everything aside and just get along right now at this point. Otherwise, Bulan will go down in flames.”

“It’s a shame we got off to such a rough start, I really think if we would have been able to align we would have came off as so much stronger in the game,” Cole explained to Mick.

“I completely agree with that, if I as in your Final Four alliance nothing would have stood in your way at getting the Finals,” Mick told Cole.

In a confessional shortly after the conversation Mick said to the cameras: “I think that if I were to get to the Finals with any one individual in this game, I would win! If I were to get to the Finals with Olivia or Kyle, the four Bulan members would definitely vote for me. If I were to get against Cole, Emily and the three Matahari members would vote for me so I would definitely win in any sitation.”

Cole says in a confessional: “I’m skeptical about bringing Mick to the Final Two because I know he’s already got Kyle, Babette’s and Emily’s vote. Most likely he’ll end up winning over Ruben and Olivia as well, and I’ll lose five to two. I’m hoping to good something happens that he gets booted tonight or that he gets booted tomorrow night, because I can’t be the one to boot him or that will be one lost vote in the Finals.”

Immunity Challenge
The Final Four members made their way across the moonlit yellow sands of the Indonesia beach where they came to a large idol with four smaller pedestals around it. The Hosts greeted them at this location and explained the challenge. “Welcome to the Final Four Immunity Challenge. The winner of this challenge will be guaranteed a spot in the Final Three. This challenge is not what you’d usually expect at this point in the game. This challenge is the endurance challenge, where each of you will have to take a foot and place it on the pedestal in front of you and place a hand on the idol. If the hand leaves the idol, or you lose your footing, you’re out of the challenge,” Adam (Host) explained to the castaways.

“This is for immunity,” Chris (Host) told the castaways, “and a very important immunity at that. Survivors Ready? Go.” At that, the four final members of Air Tegrin stood up to the idol.

Right off the bat, the Survivors manned their position in the challenge but rather than acting competitive they decided to have a nice conversation. The Survivors talked about their whole plan while playing the game and revealed secrets they knew about certain castaways and shared feelings on other castaways. After quite a long time, however, the conversation dwindled out and the competition began. Mick, old and feeble, was the first to fall.

[Survivors Remaining: Olivia, Cole, Kyle; Elapsed Time- One Hour 35 Minutes]

Olivia, Cole and Kyle were the Final ones left on the idol. Many hours passed since Mick fell off, and Olivia decided that she was getting too weak and she decided to call it quits. She jumped off and wished Kyle good luck.

[Survivors Remaining: Cole, Kyle; Elapsed Time- Two Hours 53 Minutes]

Cole and Kyle were the Final Two competing for immunity that would bring them into Final Three. Cole then talked to Kyle and tried to offer him a deal, “Kyle, if you vote with us for Olivia tonight, I’ll give you immunity and also bring you into the Final Two.”

Kyle looked at him and smiled, “No deal. I’ve learned my lesson for backstabbing friends.” Soon after Kyle said this, Cole slipped and led Kyle to a victory
