Episode Five: What To Do?
Reward Challenge
“I’m not sure what to do with this,” Babette responded. “The way the Tree Mail is written it seems like it might be that way.” “If it is, let’s make a pact,” Ruben told his tribe mates. “A pact that no matter what happens, we will always stay truthful to each other.” They all agreed to this pact, and no matter what would happen they would be truthful and stick together. The twelve remaining Survivors, six from each tribe, made their way onto Challenge Beach. Greeting them were twelve round circular discs face down on the sand. Each of these disks had were made of wood and had a diameter of about 24 inches. On the back of each disk was printed the words, “Twist of Fate.” The Hosts walked out from behind the trees and greeted the Survivors. Adam, one of the Hosts, spoke up: “This is like a reward, but could also be a setback. As always, some will go back to camp happy, while the others will go back empty handed, or rethinking their next move.” The survivors looked a) pissed about the switch b) depressed about the switch and c) curious as to what would happen. Each of the twelve Survivors took their spot on a circular disc and waited for the go of the Hosts. “Cole,” Adam said. “Please turn over your disc.” Cole reached down to his feet and felt the circular disc in his hand. He flipped it over and saw, underneath the disc, a dark green buff. “You are now a part of Matahari,” Christopher, the other host, said.
Matahari:

Emily was then told she must go next. She looked up at Cole and then glanced back at Asher and Madison. She was very uncertain and afraid on what might happen. Would she be united with her alliance again, or would she be alone on a tribe full of Matahari. She flipped her disc over and it revealed a dark green buff. She joined Cole standing on the Matahari mat.
Matahari:

“Two switches of tribes in the game so far,” Christopher said. “Harriet, you’re next.” Harriet looked over at Kyle and gave him a loving look. She looked at the buff under the disc and saw that she had no change. Again, she was on Matahari.
Matahari:
Cole, Emily, and Harriet
Ruben goes over to his pad and flips it over. He was hoping for a Bulan buff so that way his whole alliance could fit onto one tribe, but he revealed a Matahari buff underneath the small pad. Matahari:
Cole, Emily, Ruben and Harriet
“Asher, please flip yours over,” Adam said. Asher looked up at Cole and Emily and wanted to be on a tribe once again with them, but the buff underneath the pad was that of a Bulan and he would not be on the same tribe as Cole and Emily anymore.
Matahari:
Cole, Emily, Ruben and Harriet
Camera pans to Marco who is flipping over his pad next. Cole, Emily and Asher feared being on a tribe with him, for what just happened to Trinity. The buff underneath Marco’s pad was that of a Matahari buff.
Matahari:
Cole, Emily, Ruben, Marco and Harriet
Kyle was next to flip over a disc. He looked over at Harriet as they both crossed their fingers, but were disappointed to see that Kyle had to go over to Bulan. As he walked over to the red mat, Asher gave him a high five. (In a confessional later in the day, Kyle reflected his sad emotions on leaving much of his tribe behind. He said, "I hate this twist, and now I'm so far away from Harriet. I couldn't see it coming, I would have never guessed."
Matahari:
Cole, Emily, Ruben, Marco and Harriet
Olivia was next, and when she flipped over a Matahari buff the outcome of the challenge was known. There were six green buffs and six red buffs underneath the mats. Babette, Madison, Cecely and Mick were all instructed to turn their pads over and they revealed red buffs. The new tribes were now: Matahari: Cole, Emily, Ruben, Marco, Olivia and Harriet Bulan: Asher, Kyle, Mick, Babette, Cecely and Madison
Also, an extra twist in the game is the fact that each tribe switched camps. Matahari went back to the Bulan camp and Bulan went back to Matahari.
