Episode Seven: Trust Noone

Day Nineteen:
The Merger

A waterfall at the new Air Tegrin camp

There were now ten people left in the game. On the New Matahari tribe there was Cole, Emily, Olivia, Ruben and Harriet while on the New Bulan tribe there was Kyle, Babette, Asher, Madison and Mick. They could all tell that they were at this point in the game where they would merge and complete the game as one tribe with individual immunities and individual rewards. Going into the merger there was much tension between some of the tribe mates. Kyle and Babette knew that they would never be able to trust each other again, Asher and Madison were worried about Mick jumping alliances and Ruben and Cole were worried about the upcoming votes.

The time then came to merge into one tribe and they decided to merge at the old Matahari camp due to the fact that the Matahari camp had beautiful fresh waterfalls. The first thing that Matahari members noticed was that Cecely was the one voted out. Ruben and Olivia felt horrible that this occurred, and they wondered how and why this happened. All strategy had to be put on hold however, as they then were given the task to name their tribe. The name they chose was Air Tegrin after the Indonesia word for waterfall. The tribe merged and all of the tribe members decided to talk and get to know each other a bit better and after all settled down, Babette immediately went over to Ruben, Olivia and Harriet to tell them about what Kyle did.

As soon as Babette took them aside, Ruben screamed, “What the hell happened to Cecely!”

Babette, somewhat timid at telling them this said, “She was voted out because of Kyle. Kyle decided to back stab our whole tribe and joined Mick and Asher and them with voting for her!”

Harriet was shocked. “Kyle back stabbed us? I don’t believe it!”

“Why did they choose Cecely?” Olivia asked.

“Because I guess they thought she was really strong,” Babette told her.

“That puts us at a disadvantage,” Ruben said disappointed. “We worked so hard to get this far and then Kyle’s just going to jump ship? My God, what was the point of that?”

“I’ll have to have a talk with him, maybe we can get him back on our side,” Harriet said.

“Somehow, I doubt it,” Babette told her.

A New Agreement

Emily in a confessional

“This is Cole and Emily,” Asher told Kyle. “They’re going to be in our little alliance.” Kyle, Cole and Emily decided to meet and greet and get aquainted for the future. “So who should we get out first?” Asher asked.

“Anybody but Harriet,” Kyle said. “Her and I are great friends and I don’t want to see her leave.”

“Well who do you want to get out?” Cole asked. “Olivia, Ruben or Babette?”

“I’m thinking Ruben, because he’d be a bad person to have on the Jury,” Kyle told them.

“Wow, really? I was thinking that we could get out Babette,” Madison told Kyle.

“No, Ruben. We have to get Ruben out,” Kyle told them.

In a confessional later, Emily went up to the camera and shared her feelings on Kyle. “Kyle’s a great guy, but now he seems like he owns this alliance. Telling us exactly who to vote for and telling us how things are turning out. He’s our tag along not our leader. That’s why I’m not sure what to do with this. Cole and I promised Ruben that we would try not to vote for him or Olivia or Babette, which actually left Harriet and Kyle. That puts us at a pickle because we were planning on getting out Kyle but now he’s with us. I think that we’re either going to all have to vote for Ruben, or go with Cole’s plan. And that was to actually tell Kyle we were voting for Ruben and then all vote for perhaps Harriet. That way we’d get out a Matahari member and then the tribe would be divided so much that they couldn’t possibly get back together to be a threat against us.”
