Chapter 5
“Alright
everyone take a seat!” Mr. Howard yelled when he entered the class room, ready
for his 4th period of Economics.
“Good
now, we’re going to have fun today” he started when everyone had a seat and the
class was quiet. They groaned at the announcement of their teacher, this
usually meant more work if he was excited about it, he probably came up with a
supposedly ‘fun’ assignment for them which would take up a lot of time.
“Now
don’t sound too enthusiastic” Mr. Howard said smiling, holding up his hands.
“Just
quit the torturing and tell us what it is” Jason said annoyed, speaking for the
whole class.
“You
think I’m torturing you?” he asked with a playful tease in his voice.
“Yes”
they chorused.
“Well
I think you’re right” the teacher laughed, amused by the ooh so obvious
enthusiasm of his students.
“I’ll
just reveal it then; in pairs you’re going to make a project about an
economical subject that you can pick yourself, instructions and claims are on
this page…” he said holding up a sheet of paper before he began passing them
out.
“You
can pick out you’re own partner but make sure both of you do equal work there
for you have to make a log-book; you can use the internet and the books in the
school’s library. And finally; you pass me the subject of your project and your
partner at the end of this class. Good get to it” the teacher said happily.
Josh
groaned as people started pairing up around him, he wondered why this man was
enjoying this so much while they had to do the work. He hated this assignment
already, first of all because he really didn’t like economics but even worse
was that they had to work in pairs and with his reputation of a rapist nobody
would want to pair up with him which would mean he’d have to do the work of
two.

“Alright
everyone is paired up except….” the teacher announced only 5 minutes before the
end of class, looking at his list where he had the pairs lined up, he quickly
checked the list seeing who was missing from it,
“Josh
and….” he said scanning the page once more,
“Robin”
he finished looking up at the two people he summed up. Josh turned his head to
look at Robin, she was a beautiful girl he’d noticed her before, he admired her
too. She was not a popular girl but only because she didn’t want to be, she didn’t
want to have anything to do with those popular shallow girls and that made her
stand out but Josh knew they wouldn’t be working together. He saw the teacher
debating whether or not he should put them together, he heard about the
accusation, heck everyone heard about it and to put a girl with him would just
be asking for trouble wouldn’t it? On the other hand he would be innocent till
proven guilty.
“Alright
you two work together” he said eventually pointing from Josh to Robin.
“Better
be careful Robin, he could lunge for you. Study work makes him horny” Dylan,
the biggest asshole in class said.
“Hey!”
Mr. Howard yelled. The bell rang just in time to save Josh from any other cruel
comments from his classmates.
“Robin
can I talk to you for a second?” the teacher said as she walked by his desk.
“Sure”
she said stopping in front of him.
“You
ok with pairing up with Josh?” he asked making sure he’d made the right
decision, he didn’t want to ask her this in class knowing she wouldn’t dare to
say no.
“Yes
sir” she said.
“You
sure?”
“Yes”
she confirmed.
“Alright,
but if you change your mind you know where to find me ok?” she nodded while
offering him a smile before she slowly walked towards the door.
“Ooh
Robin” he called after her. She turned towards him,
“Don’t work
together without supervision” he said to her, she nodded hesitantly before she
walked out the door to her next class.
