A native of Ontario, Canada, and at only 27, guitar wizard Shawn Kellerman is poised to join the select circle of musicians who define modern blues. The traditional forms are reinterpreted... yanked out of the past and blasted into the here and now with a ferocious authenticity seldom achieved by most other guitarists.
When Shawn was 16, he played with anyone he could.
Ten years later, armed with a diverse range and intense style, he has played internationally with some of the best... blues greats such as Deborah Coleman, Mel Brown and Bobby Rush to name a few.
In addition to his extensive touring on the Chitlin Circuit, Shawn has played some of the best "A" circuit blues clubs and festivals in North America... including King Biscuit Festival, Portland, Oregon Waterfront Blues Fest, San Francisco Blues Fest, Buddy Guy's Legends in Chicago and the House of Blues in New Orleans and Boston... not to mention his performances in 8 European countries, a tour with Bobby Rush in Hong Kong and most recently in Turkey, Romania and Russia.
With an evolved approach, Shawn has synthesized his own fluid guitar technique and scorching attack with the classic sounds of the great blues masters.
Further, the Toronto Blues Society, sponsering the Maple Blues Awards to recognize the finest in Canadian blues, has nominated him for 1999 Guitarist of the Year.
This new age bluesman generates a hair-raising sound that the enthusiastic media commentary fall short of describing... a sound that will electrify your soul.
