Part Four

I’m so nervous! Today is my wedding day. Today I become Mrs. Jordan Taylor Hanson. My gown is beautiful. The top is beaded pearl, the bottom white satin. The bridesmaids are Kara, Jessica, and Ali, my best friends, and Avery. Jessica is my maid of Honor. Daisy is our flower girl. She looks so cute in her lavender dress. She loves it, she says it makes her feel, “Pretty, like Auntie Jessie, and Auntie Avery.” I’m so nervous. Today is May 6, one month after my 20th birthday, Daisy is 3. I never expected to have my daughter in my wedding. I have to go now, wish me luck.

I did it! I’m Mrs. Jordan Taylor Hanson. I’ve always longed for this day. My mascara ran down my face, and I don’t think there was a dry eye in the entire church. After the ceremony we went into the back of the church, to change and get ready for the reception. It seems I wasn’t the only one who would never forget that day. After we had changed Ali and Zac pulled Taylor and I over to the side. Zac asked if he could tell us something. Before we could answer Ali blurted out, “Zac gave me a promise ring, Look!!” She shoved her hand in my face. I can’t believe my brother-in-law ( wow, my brother-in- law!) and my best friend! I’m never going to forget this day! I can’t believe his parents splurged on the dolphin ice sculptures. White cake with strawberries, chocolate-covered strawberries. Mmm, I love strawberries! Everything was perfect. I’m still so excited.

Oh, St. Lucia is beautiful! We went to Club Med St. Lucia for our honeymoon. It never once rained. It was a family club and we both, although neither of us would admit it, kept thinking of Daisy and how much she’d love it there.

We did everything from snorkeling trips to the Pitons to the flying trapeze and the tightrope in the circus program. Of course who could forget the looks on the people’s faces when we sat down to a meal. Eating with Taylor Hanson! Oh my!! Other then that it was so much fun.

All good things must come to an end though. We’re back in Tulsa, back in school, and back to parenthood. Not that we mind or anything, but it was nice to have a break. Away from the real world and all our problems. We got to act like kids again, even though our innocence, our childhood, was taken away those 3 years ago
