This time, it was my turn. I would give her a taste of her own
medicine.I stepped into the shower, letting the hot water pour down on my back.
I thought about the concert. Just thinking about it gave me shivers
down my spine. I was going to pay for both tickets, and Lindsay was going to
pay for backstage passes. We got Backstage passes, because our Uncle works
at the colleseum where the concert would be held.
I got out of the shower when I was done, wrapped a towel around
myself, and dried my hair.
I walked into my room, glancing at the hanson posters which were
plastered all over my walls. I smiled, knowing that I would be seeing them
live tonight.
I walked to my closet, and picked out an outfit to wear for that
day. It was a pair of wide flared blue jeans, a sky blue baby tee with the
words 'Ms Whatever' scrawled across the middle in silver letters, and my
blue docs.
I wandered downstairs to our spanish tiled kitchen, and screamed in
surprise at what was laying on the wooden table.
Lindsay wan downstairs, saying "Lauren! Laur, whats wrong?"
"Look!" I squealed in delight. "Hanson tickets, Backstage passes,
and Money! Lots of money," I smiled.
I spied a note lying on the table, and started to read it outloud :
I guess you found the tickets
and passes. We thought we would
be nice to you girls, and get them
for you. We left you some money for
clothes. Buy something nice, so you
can model them when we come home!
Luv you,
"So?" Lindsay asked expectantly. "How much money did she leave us,
Lauren?"
"Hold On and Ill count it," I said, grabbing the money.
As I tallied up the money, my eyes got wider and wider. I turned to
Lindsay in shock and said "F-fo-four hu-u-ndred d-d-dolldars!"
"Lauren, you've got to me kidding!" Lindsay said incredously.
"Nope! I am totally one hundred percent serious, Linds!"
I was getting pretty excited myself. I mean, I can't remember when
my parents gave me so much money. I do get allowence and everything, but
this was a LOT of money, ya know?
"So what are we waiting for? Lets hit the mall!" Lindsay said,
smiling from ear to ear.
"Well, perhaps you'd like to get dressed, sister dear," I pointed out.
Lindsay looked down and flushed a light red. "Oops," she replied
meekly. I laughed as she ran up the stairs.
I walked into the family and plunked myself onto the sofa. I grabbed
the remote controal, and flipped to channel 30, Much Music.
Celine Dion's song for "My Heart Will Go On" was playing. That was
one of my favorite songs. I listened to the lyrics, each word pearcing my
heart :
My eyes watered, and the tears spilled past my eyelids, and onto my
cheeks. That song always made my cry.
Lindsay came down the stairs and into the room at that moment, as I
was flicking off the Television.
"Oh Lauren, you have to stop crying every time you hear that song!"
Lindsay said, smiling gently at me.
"Yeah I know, but its hard not to. I mean, it has so much
meaning..." My voice trailed off. I wiped my eyes, and Lindsay gave me a
quick hug.
Her mood quickly changed, and she tapped her foot impatiently. "Come
ON! Lets GO!"
"Okay, okay, Im going, Im going," I said, scurrying out the door.
We headed to the mall, taking the bud. The ride seemed to last
forever, but finally we reached our destination.
We headed to "L.A Express" to look for an outfit. I quickly found
the perfect skirt and shirt, and admired them. I looked at the price tag and
whistled. I could never afford that! Then I remembered that I had two
hundred dollars, smiled, and sauntered into a changing room.
When I came out, I was wearing a plaid pleted mini skirt, with a
slim fit white shirt, and a white valour jacket, unsipped.
"Wow Lauren, that looks totally awesome on you!" Lindsay said
admiringly.
"It really does," The sales woman said, looking me up and down.
"Thanks," I said, smiling satisfied.
I changed my clothes back, purchased my outfit, and we headed off to
another store, since Lindsay hadn't seen anythin that caught her eye.
She suggested we go to "Boot Legger". She finally setteled on a aqua
blue baby tee that read "spoiled", and a white skirt, that was about two
inches above her knees.
"Perfect!" I said.
"Do you really think it looks good on me?" She asked doubtfully.
"It wouldn't look good on anyone but you!" I said reasuring her it
looked great on her.
She smiled, and payed for her outfit. Then we walked off to "Le
Chateau" so we could get shoes. I bought a pair of black platforms, with a
medium heal, to make me look a little taller than I already was, and Lindsay
bought short healed black platforms.
We caught the next bus ride home, with me taking up a whole seat to
fit my bags. I sighed, exausted. I closed my eyes for what seemed like a few
seconds, when I felt someone shaking me awake. "Lauren! Lauren come on, its
our stop!" Lindsay called out quietly.
I rubbed my eyes, and got off the bus.
When we reached out house, mom was sitting on the sofa, looking at
us expectantly. "So?" She asked. "What did you two get?"
"We're going to show you!" I told her.
"We are?" Lindsay asked.
"Yes! Come on!" I said.
We both changed, and pretty soon, we were on our way to the concert.
It was a blast! They sang "Madeline" "MMMbop" "A minute without you" "Man
from Miluakee" "I will come to you" "Thinking of you" and "Wheres the love"
They through Beach balls into the audience, and I caught one. I
tried to hold on to it, but it got carried away by the huge crowd.
As they left the stage, with Zac saying "I love you guys!" to the
crowd, I started to get nervous.
My stomach was doing flip flops, and my palms were sweaty. I mean, I
was going to meet Hanson. Who wouldn't be?
We walked backstage, and I would just make out three blonde heads.
They were talking to girls who looked about Isaac's age. As we waited, the
crowd lessened, until there was only about 20 people.
I couldn't take my eyes off Zac. He looked so cute in his black
jeans, and white shirt. Finally we were the only ones there, and I could
feel my heart leap into my throat when they started walking in my
direction......
Dear Lindsay and Lauren,
Mom and DadEvery night in my dreams, I see you, I feel you,
That is how I know you go on.
Far across the distance and spaces between us,
You have come to show you go on.
Near, Far where ever you are,
I believe that the heart does go on.
Once more, you open the door,
You are safe in my heart, and my heart will go on and on.
Love can touch just one time, and last for a lifetime,
and never let go until were gone.
Love was when I loved you, one true time, I hold to,
and now you show me you go on..........
