[when everything feels like the movies]

i absolutely love this movie! it was made in 1995 when ewan mcgregor still was young [just kidding]. it may
be a bit hard to understand all they say, since all of them have a pretty strong scottish accent (except form
one american guy who comes into the bar and asks if he can use the bathroom), depending on where you're
from, and if you're not into all the so-called "bad" words, but you get the point. i rented it on video, which
means that i could have fast forwarded it as much as i wanted to, but i didn't do it once. there are a couple
of pretty gross scenes in the movie, but they don't kill you [unless you're totally sensitive, then i suggest you
fast forward right after renton [ewan] rushes into the bathroom right after he has told you about "the perfect
bathroom", and when spud [ewen bremner, i think] finds himself lying in his girlfriend's bed the next morning &
when he walks into the kitchen with the sheet]. basically the movie is about some friends in edinburgh, scotland
who are more or less addicted to drugs. renton, sick boy and spud get their drugs from everywhere, and they
take whatever they can get their hands on. renton however tries to get clean, moves to london and gets a proper
job and a place to stay. after a while begbie, one of the few people in the movie who don't do drugs, comes, and
then sick boy arrives. they go back to scotland, and they have a very good reason. well anywayz, before i tell
you the whole movie i suggest you rent or buy it. it's really good, and i love the end. if you've seen the movie

[there's something about mary]

call me old-fashioned, but i like the movies where the good guy gets the girl. not that there were so many bad guys
in the movie, weird, yes, bad, no. it is the "classic" boy meets girl, boy loses girl, boy wants to meet girl again. this is,
as most of you know, a comedy, and it is pretty sweet...bitter sweet for some. ted meets mary when he tries to break
up a fight between mary's mentally challenged [is that politically correct now?] and some guy [if you haven't seen the
movie, and want to know the reason for the fight, mail me]. anyway, mary asks ted to the prom, and he's totally happy.
when the big day comes something pretty hilarious happens, and they end up never going. but 13 years later, in 1998,
ted can't get mary off his mind, so he asks his friend dom what to do. dom sends him to healy, who takes off to miami
to find here. he does, but there's one problem...guess who falls in love with her...yep, healy. ted comes down to florida
too to see the woman he loves, but on the way he gets into some trouble. fortunately his friend dom, with his "love blisters",
picks him up, and they continue down to miami. however when they get there, they discover that mary is a pretty woman,
not the ugly, fat lady with a lot of kids healy described her as. they also discover that ted and healy aren't the only ones
who have crushes on mary...and who is this dom anyway? there are a whole lot of lies until one of them ends up with
mary. one of the funnies moments must have been the "hair gel" one...or maybe it qualifies as disgusting. got something
