"I'm so nervous!" said Steph, as we waited in the elevator on our
way to the top floor.
"Don't be," I told her, "You already know he likes you. What's
there to be nervous about?"
"Maybe he doesn't like me. What if he's just being nice?" She was
so worried.
"Oh, come on. I really doubt that."
"Really?"
"Yeah. I see how he looks at you. He really likes you." I tried to
convince her.
"I hope so." she replied. Just then the elevator doors opened. We
got out and went to the second door on the left. I double-checked the
number on the card. "Is this it?" Steph asked.
"Looks like." I said. Steph took a deep breath. I knocked on the
door. Nick answered it right away.
"Lucy, hi! I'm so glad you came!" He gave me a big hug.
"Thanks for inviting me." I looked at him. he was wearing khakis
and a tommy shirt. "So where are you taking me?" I asked.
"There's no way I'm telling you! You'll just have to wait."
"Nick?" Steph asked.
"Oh, hi, I never even noticed you were here. Sorry."
"I feel so loved." she joked. "Which room's Howie's?"
"He's right across the hall, there."
Howie answered the door when she knocked. I couldn't tell what they
were saying, but then they both went into his room and shut the door.
"I think that would be a good idea." I said and led him back into
his room. "Wow!" I exclaimed when I looked in. It was huge. There were two
floos, a big screen TV with an N64 game hooked up to it. The room was well
furnished with expensive stuff, too. I could hardly see the expensive
carpet, though. He had the messiest room I'd ever seen.
"Are you wowing the room or the mess?" Nick asked.
"Both." I replied, and laughed.
"So do you want to get going?" He asked
"Sure, are all the guys coming?"
"Yup."
We walked into the hallway to see all the guys and Steph waiting
for us. We got downstairs and piled into the limo, along with a few
bodyguards. On the way there I kept begging Nick to tell me where we were
going, but he wouldn't say a word.
Finally we pulled up in an alley. "What's this?" I asked. The
driver opened the doors and we all got out.
"Lucy, we're at a night club. We're going through the back doors
one at a time so we don't get recognised. The owners and people who work
here know we're coming so they set up extra security," Nick finally
explained. "We'll go in first." He put on his "Dolphin's" baseball cap and
we walked in.
