The Mystery Trip: Chapter One
One snowy day at lunch, nine friends who were seniors, were discussing
their trip to Colorado over Christmas vacation.
"So do we have everyone for this meeting?" Julia asked everyone.
"Well Tim is going to miss because he is meeting with one of his teachers."
said Jennifer, Tim's girlfriend.
"Okay. Then we have everyone here. Let's start." she said.
"Are we going to drive or fly?" asked Marshal.
"Well if we are going to drive, which is the cheapest, we can follow each
other in our cars, or if someone has a van we can drive in that."
"Well since no one has a van, let's drive in our own cars." said Mandi.
"Sounds good." said Megan.
"Okay, then who wants to drive?" asked Katie.
Julia, Marshal and Mandi said they would drive their cars.
"Okay....who's going with who then?" asked Ben.
"I can take Megan and Katie." said Julia.
"I can take Jen and Amanda." said Mandi.
"Then I will take Matt, Ben and Tim." said Marshal.
"Okay now that's settled. Where are we going to meet?" asked Amanda.
"Let's meet at Hardee's at five a.m." said Julia.
"Why five?" asked Matt.
"Because I have driven to Colorado before and it takes at least fifteen
hours."
"Okay." he said and the bell rang.
"Okay you guys remember tomorrow, five o'clock, Hardee's." said Julia,
while leaving the cafeteria. Everyone nodded their heads and walked to class.
While Julia was going to sixth hour, she saw Tim.
"Tim!" she yelled and he turned around.
"Yeah?" he asked.
"We discussed the trip at lunch. Go to Jen to get the info."
"Okay! Thanks!" And they walked opposite directions to their classes.
After school, everyone met by Julia's locker.
"Does anyone have any questions about tomorrow?" she asked. No one
answered.
"Okay then. Katie, is Ben still coming?" Jennifer asked.
"Your inviting Ben?" asked Mandi.
Mandi and Katie went through a lot over their eigth and nineth grade
years, but they got everything straightened in the begining fo their sophmore
year.
"Yeah. But I have to double check tonight." said Katie.
"Well whatever he says, call me and let me know." Julia said.
"Okay." she said.
"Okay then, if anyone has any questions call, everyone get a good nights
rest and I will see you all tomorrow!" Julia said. Everyone nodded their
heads and walked out to their cars.
"I'm taking you home right?" Julia asked Megan.
"Yeap."
"Then lets go." she said and took Megan home.
When Julia got home, she got on the computer for a little bit. When her
mom and dad got home, they all went out for supper.
After Julia's family went out, around seven thirty, Julia started to
pack.
Right in the middle of her packing, the phone rang. She answered it.
"Hello?"
"Is Julia there?"
"This is her."
"Hey! It's Katie."
"Hi. So what did Ben say?"
"He said he wasn't able to make it."
"Oh. I'm sorry."
"It's okay. We are going to get together tonight and go out for dinner."
"That's cool."
"I better let you go so I can get ready."
"Okay. Talk to you later!"
"Bye." And they hung up.
After Julia got off the phone, she finished packing. Later that night she
went down stairs to see what everyone was doing. Her dad was on the computer,
her mom was reading a book and her sister was watching t.v. She decided to
get a drink of water and go to bed.
