The Mystery Trip: Chapter 13
After everyone was done, they met out on the parking lot.
"So what can we do? It's one thirty." said Marshal.
"Well, I kinda want to go ice skating." said Katie, wrapping her arms
around Ben to get him warm.
"Sounds like a good idea." said Mandi.
"Then lets go." said Tim, warming up Jennifer.
"Well don't we need directions?" asked Matt.
"Yeah. I will go ask one of the clerks in the grocery store." said Julia.
She unwrapped her arms around Kevin and ran in the store.
Two minutes later, she came back out.
"Okay, we go down the highway and we can catch a tram at "Trams 'R Us" and
they will take us there." said Julia.
"Alright, let's go." said Brian.
They went into their cars and drove to "Trams 'R Us."
They arrived and parked their cars. They ran into a small building where
the tram picks up passengers.
They only had to wait, about five minutes.
Nick and Megan got on first, and Nick told the driver, "Ice rink please."
The driver nodded his head and let the rest of them on.
When they arrived at the rink, it was a nice little pond which was iced
over, outside. It wasn't crowded, about fifty people. But the stores around
the pond, that's where all the people were at.
They went to pay and rent skates. Soon enough, they were all on the pond.
A.J helped Mandi since she didn't know how to ice skate. He kept hold of
her, but sometimes, when she fell, he went right with her.
Everyone else was okay. The all had so much fun. But before they knew it,
it was all over.
When everyone was going off the ice, Mandi wanted to go at least one time by
herself.
"Do you want me to go with you?" A.J asked.
"Yeah, stay behind me." she said.
He followed her. She was doing great until they were almost to the exit.
When A.J wasn't paying attention, Mandi fell and he fell right on top of her.
Everyone saw the hard fall. A.J could get up but he didn't think Mandi
could.
"Mandi? Are you alright?" he asked, as everyone watched in silence.
"Yeah, I think so." she said.
"Give me your hand." he said. She reached up and grabbed his hand. She
got up slowly but eventually she got back up on her feet.
"I am so sorry." said A.J, giving her a hug.
"It's okay."
"Here, let me help you walk to the exit."
He wrapped his right arm on her waist and carried her off the ice.
"Are you alright, Mandi?" asked Amanda.
"Yeah, I'm fine. I will probably bruse, but I'll be okay." said Mandi.
"And it's all my fault!" A.J said.
"No it's not. I was consitrating so much on how great I was doing."
"I know but....."
"But nothing. Let's go." Mandi said, and they all walked in and returned
their skates.
