Boston Experience

From Kate and Lindsay

Hanson came, they saw, they conquered. Well, hey it's a cliche but it's the best way to describe the kickinest concert Boston has ever seen! We were so hyped on the car ride there that we were plastering our Bop Hanson posters and our MOE to the windows of the van. A purple van had been tailing us for a couple of miles and we finally decided we had been bothering them enough so we took the posters down. All the sudden the van came up behind us and the girls were holding their Hanson books in the window! We were laughing and giving thumbs up, it was really funny.

When we pulled off the exit, we had to wait in this huge line just to get into the parking lot. I swear as we were waiting there this dark blue van with tinted windows pulled into the VIP parking lot. It was the same van as the interview before LIVE FROM THE TEN SPOT! We were screaming by then! Then we waited 45 mins in this line to get in, found our seats and waited another 45 mins. for Admiral Twin to come on. Even when they shined a spot light the wall just to test it, the girls would scream. The screamed whenever Admiral Twin mentioned Hanson, Tulsa or when they finished a song (they thought Hanson was going to come on). Admiral Twin were alright, but I personally think everyone enjoyed singing along with the Wallflowers songs as the groupies set up Hanson's instruments behind a big black curtain. They slowly began to pull up a big gray curtain and they finally Wallflowers song ended. Taylor screamed something and suddenly the beginning rifts of Gimme Some Lovin began behind the rippling gray curtain. They dropped the curtain and a deafing roar from the crowd exploded as the huge flash of light poured from the stage. It was too cool for words. Everyone stood in awe but needless to say it was not silent. Gimme Some Lovin changed into Shake Your Tail Feather and then back into Gimme. The crowd went wild! Taylor began to Thank everyone for coming and then they moved straight into Thinking of You. The lights were flashing and everyone was having a great time. The next two songs, River and Where's the Love, went really well with the occasionly "everyone get on your feet", but it was definitly not needed. During Where's the Love, Hanson paused for a minute then played the ending to the song again to the delight of many of the Fans. Werid was next on the list and I must say I love hearing that song live, it sounds so beautiful with Taylor's keyboarding. As soon as they finished Werid, the boys from Tulsa screamed they'd be back in a sec anf ran off the stage. Out of nowhere these great big backdrops fell from the top of the stage. They looked like a huge garge. My friends and I had been standing in the asile and when Hanson had left the stage the asile had cleared. We ran all the way to the bottom and got a great view of them for the next 3 songs or so. The roadies lugged out a huge green arm chair and an odd looking lamp. They moved Zac's drums to the left of the chair and Tay's keyboards to the right along with a chair for the guys to sit in. They came back on with Isaac saying "It's story time now". They ran through Stories, With you in your Dreams (where Taylor took off his silver over shirt to show a white shirt like the one on Live From the Ten Spot and when he did that the girls went wild!!), and Soliders which went over very well. Then to the surprise of the audience they played the old Beatle song Money. Tay yelled "it's Ike time" and he and Zac cleared the stage. Ike move over to the keyboard and played a beautiful redition of More than Anything. The girls next us began to cry and I must say it was a highlight of the show. At the end of the song he turned off the light next to him and left the stage. The roadies fixed the stage to the way it was before and the boys reappered. We had been sent back up to the top of the asile and enjoyed the rest of the show up there. The boys played a song called "If Your Ever Lonely" which I had never heard before, but liked a lot. Next came Speechless (which sounded very different), Good Luvin by the Rascels, Minute without You (which Ike dedicated to the people on the Lawn) and I Will Come to You (where everyone was waving their glow sticks). Zac's drumsticks were lighted up too! It was awesome. During the entire show you could see Walker Hanson on stage taping his sons. He had the camera inches from Zac's face while he was singing. He had come out earlierto tape the crowd and it was really neat to see what he looked like. Mmmbop was the next song and was really cool. They had these lights shaped like flowers changing colors behind the boys and it looked really, really, cool. "Alright, you guys have been great and for our final song we're going to play the song which we got our Tour name and the name of our Cd, Man From MIlwaukee" said Taylor and they began a rockin version of it. The guys said their Thanks for comings, shook a few peoples hands in the front (Ike had to pull Tay back because the girls were pulling him in) and left. Everyone began to scream HANSON, HANSON and after a few minutes we heard "Do you guys want us to come out? Do you guys really want us to come out? THEN SCREAM!" And the crowd definitly answered! They came out for Look At You and the greatest version of Summertime Blues I've ever heard. At one point Ike flipped his guitar around him leaned over Tay and without skipping one beat contined the keyboards part. Tay grabbed an extra mic and the got the crowd to sing along. Later the switch back without missing a beat again! For the end of Summertime Blues, Ike climbed up onto Zac's drum set and jumped in the air landing on his knees and still playing. It was incrediable. To finish this spectaular event the boys turned off all the lights but one and sang an acapella Werid into a single Mic. It was a great way to end the concert. They shook hands again and began to pick up the things people had thrown on stage and Tay began to pass out Roses someone had thrown. It was really sweet of him.

In conclusion, it was the best concert I've ever been to. I will never forget it as long as I live. I hope the guys come to visit Boston again. I know Boston would be happy to have them.
