B96 Halloween Bash!

Our experience at the B96 Halloween Bash:

This isn't as exciting as any of the other real life experiences, but it was definitely incredible. Katie, my friend, Erin, and I waited until about the last minute to get tickets to the B96 Halloween Bash in Chicago, Illinois, so the seats were pretty bad. We were behind the stage upper level. Our seats were actually closer to the stage than the ones in front. Katie, Erin, and I wanted to get there really early, but it didn't work out. We were stuck in traffic until the concert was about to start. We made the best out of it, though. Luckily, I had some magazines in the car that we were holding up to the windows. We soon figured out that there were Hanson fans surrounding us. Behind us was about six Hanson lovers packed into a tiny car. They were the most hyper and the loudest out of all the cars. The three of us would have been, but my dad would've killed us. Those girls had their windows all the way down and were all singing Hanson songs at the top of their lungs. We had a little Hanson fan club going. We wanted to talk to all the other girls after we parked, but we never saw them again. Finally, we got in and sat down. The bands before Hanson were Aaliyah, Robyn, and Backstreet Boys. The crowd was deafening for Backstreet Boys. After they played, there was an intermission. No Hanson fans left. During the break, they would dim the lights or flash Hanson logos on the huge screen just to freak us out. It worked. When the intermission was over, Hanson came on stage. The crowd, us included, went wild. Katie and I started jumping up and down. Since we were kind of far away, we armed ourselves with binoculars. While they played the first song, "Madeline," we went downstairs to try to sneak into the lower level. Unfortunately, employees were guarding the entrances. We heard "Man From Milwaukee" start and sprinted back upstairs to our seats. We missed Zac on the megaphone, which we all regretted later. We're not sure about the order of the songs from now on, but we'll try. They played "Thinking of You," "Where's the Love" with the encore, "A Minute Without You," "I Will Come to You," and last-"MMMBop." It was so cool during "I Will Come to You." Everyone had their lighters, flashlights, and light-up roses out. They bought the roses there since the name of the place was the "Rosemont Horizon" and has a huge rose on the outside of the building. I remember the spotlights being blue during that song. After they sang "MMMBop," they joined in the center of the stage, holding their water bottles. They threw the rest of their water out at the audience. Katie, Erin, and I were REALLY jealous but thought it was funny at the same time. Then, they joined hands and bowed and walked off the stage. Then En Vogue played. Tons of people left then-probably mostly Hanson fans. Hanson played more songs than anyone else there. The others played around four songs each. Hanson were the most popular ones, BSB the second. Although we didn't meet Hanson or see them close up, the three of us probably all agree that it was the best day of our lives-so far.
