Chaper Four

"Reservation for two, Isaac Hanson." The pretty blond hostess looked at her list, marked their names off, and led them to their table. Daniela watched Isaac's eyes. To her pleasant suprise, he wasn't watching the hostess walk. This made Daniela smile. He was looking for the table. After what seemed like a tour of the restaurant, they finally were able to sit. The menus were there waiting for them. They sat as the hostess informed them that their server would be with them. She smiled sweetly at Isaac, then turned and went back to the hostess stand when she didn't even get a glance out of Isaac. Daniela felt so happy. He didn't even look at her! Wow. She looked at him, taking in his 'new' haircut, the shape of his face, broad shoulders- she wondered what they felt like- her eyes wandered back up to his, not letting her mind continue on it's track. He was looking at her. How long had he been looking at her? Her cheeks flushed, and she looked at her menu. Daniela wondered if he'd seen her looking him over. At least for her, he couldn't read her mind. He smiled at her. Or could he? She had to change the subject.
"So what are you going to order?" She asked innocently, trying desperately to change Isaac's thoughts too. Isaac looked at his menu.
"The steak tenderloin and potatoes sound really good. How about you?" Daniela knew that question was coming, and she hadn't even glanced at the menu, but she was going to have to pretend she had.
"I was thinking maybe the chicken." She searched for the chicken section, and found something. "The stuffed chicken with cheese and wild rice." She was proud of her recovery. Just then, they were inturrupted by their waiter.
"Hi, I'm Nathan, and I'll be your waiter tonight. We can start off with your beverage requests."
"Would you bring us your best champagne?"
"Yes sir. Are you ready to order by chance?"
"Are you?" Isaac asked Daniela. She nodded. "Yes, I guess we are. You go first Daniela."
"I'll have the stuffed chicken." Daniela handed the menu to the waiter.
"Thank you." He smiled, and turned to Isaac.
"I'll have the steak tenderloin with potatos and vegetables."
"Would both of you like a salad with your meals? We have house or ceasar." Isaac looked at Daniela. He nodded, then turned to Nathan.
"Yes, two salads please. I'll have a ceasar."
"And for you?"
"I'll have a ceasar too." Nathan jotted down their requests.
"I'll be right back with the champagne." Isaac nodded as the server turned and headed towards the kitchen. Isaac was confident now, and reached for Daniela's hands across the table and held them. They looked into eachothers' eyes.
"So tell me why you're single." Isaac asked.
"Well, I had a boyfriend, and we were planning long term, but he chickened out at the last minute, basically, snd Skyla wasn't prevented. If it happened, it happened, and it did. Why are you still single?" Daniela smiled.
"You're not mad or have any regrets?" Isaac laughed. "I just haven't found any girls with potential until just recently." He smiled at her. Daniela smiled and blushed. She knew somehow that he was talking about her.
"No, I don't have any regrets at all. I love Skyla more than anything, and she's one of my best friends, even though she's only one." Daniela laughed. "Just recently, huh? What's her name and am I intruding?" She already knew the answer, she just wanted to hear him say it. He laughed.
"It was just recently. Just today, actually, and her name is Daniela, and no, you're not intruding." He smiled, and squeezed her hands gently. The waiter returned with a bottle of Cuvee Dom Perignon 1995. He produced two champagne glasses, opened the bottle, and poured the two glasses, left the bottle in the bucket of ice, and retreated to the kitchen.
"Tay said that you already knew who we are." Isaac released one of Daniela's hands, and took a sip of his champagne. Daniela did the same.
"Yeah. I was telling Taylor that I was a really big fan back in the day. It's kind of embarrassing to tell you." Isaac laughed.
"Well, okay, I'll just talk to Taylor about it."
"Oh, that's even better..." Daniela rolled her eyes.
"You could tell the story all over again if you'd rather."
"That's okay. It was a long one. I had a lot of stuff."
"Had?"
"Yeah. It's either given away or thrown away, or at my moms."
"You must have had a lot of stuff for it to be in three different places."
"There was a lot of stuff. But I guess I'll be adding a little more in a little bit, huh? With your new album coming out and all." Daniela wanted to change the subject to anything but the past.
"Yeah. We're really hoping this one does well, now that we're on our own label. Do you plan on buying 'Underneath'?"
"Yeah, I was planning on getting it the morning it comes out."
"That's cool. At least that's one sold. And then we have a couple of t.v. promos we have to do that day too."
"You're keeping busy."
"Yeah, it's starting to be like old times."
"Busy all the time."
"It's good though." Daniela nodded, but she didn't want to say yes. If they wanted to see more of eachother, they'd have to work around his schedule, and if he got busy, who knows how many times they'd see eachother. Isaac could see that she didn't want them to get too extreamly busy. "And I'll still have time for my friends. Believe me, I'll make time if I have to." He added, not wanting to make her sad. She smiled at him.
"I know." She said quietly. Isaac reached for her hands.
"If things go like I hope they do, you and Natalie will be spending a lot of time with eachother." Daniela smiled at him again, hoping he meant those words. Just then, Isaac looked up above Daniela's head, and smiled at the waiter bringing their food on a large tray. Isaac released Daniela's hands to make room for the hot plates. They both looked at their food, starving.
"Does everything look the way you expected it?" The server asked.
"Yes, it looks great." Isaac and Daniela replied in unison.
"Then I will leave you now." He bowed and disappeared. In silence, the two began to eat, too hungry to carry on the conversation for now.
Daniela took a sip of her wine, and set her fork down for a minute.
"I'm not going to be able to eat all of this."
"Well, we can always have it boxed and you can eat it later if you want. We can order desert to go to. Eat that later."
"You never did finish telling me your plans for the rest of our evening." Isaac laughed.
"I was just thinking that if you wanted to, we could either go catch a movie or something, or rent one and stay in. Whatever sounds best to you." Isaac looked down at his half empty plate, hoping she'd want to catch a movie and stay in. Daniela took a small bite of her chicken.
"I think it would be nice to rent a movie off of cable and stay in with the desert. We can go to my place, I know yours is kind of busy." She smiled at him seductively, slowly pulling the fork out of her mouth, watching Isaac watch her lips.
"Yeah, I'm done now." Isaac said, pushing his plate away from him. He looked around for the waiter, cought his eye, and called him over. "Can I have the chocolate cherry cheesecake to go, two boxes, and the bottle of champagne added to the check please?" The waiter nodded and hurried off. Daniela wiped her mouth with her napkin and smiled. She knew what he wanted to do, and when. She was ready too. Isaac pulled out his card when he saw the waiter approaching them. He waiter returned with the check and the boxes. Isaac handed him his card and the waiter rushed off again. Isaac and Daniela sat silently, looking into eachothers eyes, waiting impatiently for the waiter to return with Isaac's card and their desert. After what seemed like an eternety, he returned with desert, the card, and a bag for everything.
"Wow Isaac. I feel loved."
"You should because you are." He smiled, reassured he was going to be repaid for his bottle of champagne. They put the boxes into the bag. The waiter came back for the final trip. Isaac signed the second card receipt.
"Thank you so much for dining with us, have a wonderful evening."
"Thank you." They both said. Isaac practically threw the bottle of champagne into the bag. Grabbing Daniela's hand, he practically pulled her out of the restaurant. The hostess at the podium began to say thank you and good night, but they were already out the door before she could finish. Daniela had an idea that if she wasn't walking any faster, Isaac would pick her up and carry her, but she guessed he didn't want to seem that desperate, so he let her walk. They arrived at Isaac's car, which was unlocked and started by the time they were within twenty feet of the car. They jumped in. Isaac set the bag carefully on the floor of the car behind Daniela's seat, not wanting anything to spill on his carpet. While he was reaching behind Daniela, he took advantage of his position. He placed his lips on Daniela's. After a couple seconds, Isaac drew back, looking for Daniela's reaction. She just smiled seductively after opening her eyes slowly. Isaac grinned, threw the car into reverse, and hauled ass out of the parking ramp.
"What's your address?" He asked. "I just had to do that."
"It's okay, I'm glad you did. It's 275 Sullivan St."
"Okay, that's not too far, I think. Tell me if I go the wrong way."
"All right." Daniela just let Isaac concentrate on getting them to her place. As Isaac floored the little BMW, the c.d. was playing. 'Crazy Beautiful' began. Isaac smiled, and went faster still. Twenty minutes later, they pulled up in front of Daniela's loft. Isaac killed the engine. Reaching behind Daniela again for the food, he stole another kiss. This time he decided to be bold, and give her a little tounge. She responded, and leaned into his kiss. She brought a hand up and ran it through his hair, then fisted for a second, then released to continue it's journey down his head. He broke away, looked into her eyes, which had become cloudy.
"Lets get upstairs, shall we?" Daniela nodded. She undid her seat belt and got out of the car as Isaac did the same. They linked hands as they climbed the steps into the building. Daniela produced her keys, unlocked the door, let Isaac in, climbed another two sets of stairs, and unlocked her door. Isaac was right on her heels, practically breathing down her neck. He moved in, pushing back the hair on her neck and kissed it gently.
"Ooohh.." She moaned, feeling her knees going weak. "Isaac..I can't.." Isaac pushed the door open and ushered her inside. He closed the door, locked it, set the food down on the bar next to the door, and made an advance for Daniela. She smiled as he enveloped her in his arms. She tilted her head up to meet Isaacs' lips as she wrapped her arms around his neck.
