Chapter Six
The rest of the week went by, as usual.
Once again Whitney was greeted at the door by Jessie at Monday's class. She was chatting non-stop about her day while Whitney got ready for class. They never showed up. Oh well. Ann-Marie and Whitney taught another new part, then reviewed the old. Today Whitney got to stay after the class was over to work on the dreaded staff dance. Then Ann-Marie informed her that she had a solo dance she wanted Whitney to do for the recital. At nine and no earlier, did Whitney get to go home, exhausted. Tuesday evening, Ann-Marie and Whitney taught the Starlets. They were a younger competing team. When that class was done, Diana was waiting in the lobby.
"Busy day?"
"Yeah. I have a very weird schedule. The only day I get off is Sunday. I love being busy though."
"Do you get your homework done?" They went out to her van.
"Yes. Between getting home from school and the classes."
"Wow. You must be in great physical and mental condition." Whitney had to laugh at that one.
"Yeah. It gets hectic sometimes, but I love to dance, and this is great. I love what I'm doing."
"That's good. You could probably run a marathon with your stamina."
"I wish."
"Well, maybe not. But I'm sure you could keep up with Zac anytime."
"You could join the adult dance class. It's not too late. I could teach you the first few parts that they've learned, and you'd be cought up."
"That's a good idea. I could use a little exercise- but with all the kids I get plenty. When is it?"
"Wednesdays, from seven to eight. They don't compete or anything, so you could still do stuff on the weekends."
"That sounds good. Maybe I'll do that then. I'll talk to Walker." They pulled up and she turned off the engine. "Since tonight is basically the only night you have to do anything, and you're already here, that is, if you already have your homework done, maybe you could stay an extra hour and tutor me. It'd just be tonight, so I can catch up."
"Sure! Great." They got out and went into the house. Jessie was laying on the couch and Avery was in a leotard in front of the t.v. Avery saw them and ran into the dance room to get ready.
"I'll see you in an hour with Jessie."
"Yeah." Whitney met up with Avery. "Kay Avery. Do you remember the part we learned last time?"
"A little bit. I practiced!"
"Well, lets stretch and then we can go over it a couple times."
