Chapter Seven
"So I take it you guys didn't get signed."
"Nope. We were real close though." Tay replied.
"I'm so sorry. What are you going to do now?"
"Probably go to a music festival that's being held down here. Where new bands perform, hoping to be discovered by band managers in the crowd listening for new talent." Ike said thoughtfully.
"Well, I hope you get a deal soon. Who ever does sign you will be glad they have you."
"Thanks for your confidence. Well, our business here is done. We have another appointment for four in Houston. We should get going." Diana stood up and gathered her kids. "Thanks for the lunch. Maybe we'll see you around again. Common kids. Lets go." I went over and opened the door.
"Good luck. Sorry it didn't work out. Bye." On Tay's way out, he stopped and asked for Jasmine's phone number, so she gave it to him.
"Here. Call anytime. Morning, night, whenever you wanna talk."
"Thanks. Well, bye."
"Bye." Jasmine closed the door and locked it. She then went into her room and dialed Will's number.
"Is Will there?"
"Hold on a moment." His mom answered. Then Will picked up.
"Hello?"
"Hey Will. It's Jasmine. We can talk now. Everybody left."
"Who was over there?"
"A band that was here to see if they could be signed."
"Oh. Well, okay." There was absouloute silence.
"Sorry I hung up on you earlier. I guess I wasn't ready to talk yet."
"You promise you won't hang up on me again?"
"I promise. Now why did you go out with Katrina? My best friend Will, my best friend. Why?"
"I don't have an explination. All I can say is that I was not thinking straight."
"Obviously."
"I am sorry. Can you forgive me?"
"Yes, I can forgive you..." He let out a sigh of relief. "But I can't ever trust you again. I'm sorry Will, but I'm not going to allow myself the pain and trouble of wondering about what you're doing when we're not together."
"We can always be together."
"Well, that's not gonna happen, 'cause you can keep going out with Katrina. You won't have to worry about me, because I don't want to be a part of you or Katrina's life anymore."
"What?! What're you talking about?! I don't want Katrina! I want you!"
"Well you can't have me anymore. You had your chance, and you blew it. That's not my fault."
"I know. I'm sorry."
"And I forgive you. Good-bye Will, it's been fun. Now I'm going to call Katrina and tell her."
"Fine. If that's how you want it, fine. Good-bye Jasmine."
"Good-bye Will." Jasmine hung kup and turned around. "Jason. Hi."
"What was that about? It didn't sound good."
