Chapter Eight

"Well, Will cheated on me with Katrina, so I was just dumping him."
"I know you three were close. It's a shame this had to happen."
"Yeah. I have to call Katrina now."
"I'll be in the livingroom then."
"Kay." Jasmine dialed Katrina. "Katrina?"
"Jasmine. Hi. I'm so sorry."
"I'm sure you are. So am I. I can't trust you or Will anymore, so, you can keep Will, and I'll step out of the picture."
"I- I don't understand."
"Relationships with anybody basically lives and grows on trust. If I can't trust you, why should we be friends?"
"Oh. Okay, well, then, I guess this is good bye then."
"Yeah."
"Bye Jasmine."
"Bye Katrina." Jasmine hung up, then went to her room and layed on her bed. "I hope someone calls." She announced out loud, thinking about Isaiah and Taylor. As if on command, the phone rang, but Jason got it first. It wasn't for her. 'I thought that was too good to be true, to have something like that happen as soon as you wish it to happen. Shut up Jas.' She thought to herself. 'Maybe I should visit Lorraine or something. Actually, no. Nobody cool is coming. Nobody's coming. They've probably gone home already. Stop talking to yourself!! Stop!!' Jasmine went out to the livingroom. Jason was still on the phone.
"Jason. Anybody calls for me, tell them to call at four. I'll be back by then. I'm going out." Jasmine left the appartment and headed in the direction of her favorite spot- a huge flower garden right outside of Austin. Acres of wild flowers on top of a hill. It reminded her of the poppy scene in the 'Wizard on Oz'. When she arrived at the garden, it was about three. She layed down in the flowers and staired at the sky for half an hour, watching the clouds, then walked home. She got there at five to four. At four exactly four, the phone rang.
"Jas, answer that!"
"Kay!- Hello?"
"Is Jasmine there?"
"Speaking."
"Hi Jasmine. It's Isaiah."
"Hi Isaiah! I was wondering when you'd call. So, did you get signed?"
"Uh, yes."
"Oh my gosh! Wow! You're gonna be famous!"
"I know. I'm excited."
"Now you're gonna be staying here for a while."
"Yeah. It'll be fun."
"Where're you coming from?"
"Louisiana."
"How come you don't have an accent?"
"Haven't lived there long enough."
"Oh. Where're you going to stay?"
"A hotel in Austin."
"Cool. When will you be starting to record your album?"
"In a couple of days. Will you be in the studio when we get there?"
"I suppose I could."
"Great."
