Chapter Ten

"That was mom huh?"
"Yeah. She said she's not going to be able to come home tonight. We don't have to go to school tommorw if they don't cancel it. We still have to take care of the horses though."
"We already put them up for the night, so we're done in that section for now. Where's Alex?" He was gone.
"Maybe he went to get his favorite stuffed animal or something." I suggested. "You should go check on him- incase he's lost in the dark or something."
"Whatever Maranda. If he's not back in five minutes, then I'll go check on him." We continued watching t.v. for a while longer, when Alex appeared four minutes later.
"We were just about to send out a search party for you. Where'd you go?" I asked him.
"I went to change pajammas. I didn't like the ones I was wearing."
"Alright Alex. Come sit down, watch t.v., and have another slice of pizza." He did everything I suggested, and was soon passed out on my bed. A couple minutes later, the phone rang again. I picked it up on the first ring. "Hello?"
"Maranda. it's Jason again."
"Oh! Hi Jason. What's up?" I had no clue of who this was. I didn't know any Jason Miller.
"Not much. It's one heck of a storm. Are your horses alright?" Who in the heck is this?
"Yeah. Um, Jason?"
"Yes?"
"Where do we know eachother from?"
"I'm Jason Miller- from your acting class."
"Oh. Okay. Yeah. I remember now."
"Yeah."
"Alright. So. The horses are okay. My sister and I got them in just in as it started to hail."
"They wern't hurt, were they?"
"Nope. They're fine." We talked for a little while longer. Finally at ten we hung up. "Cass, we should go to sleep. Alex is already gone."
"Okay." SHe sighed. She got up and turned off the light. I layed in the dark, listening to the rain hit my doors. After a while, I finally fell asleep.
