"Well Rosco, I hope all this goes well." He stomped his foot, impatient to go somewhere. "Hold on Ros." Cassie didn't come out of the house for a while, so Rosco and I walked in circles until she did. She came out of the gelding barn on Moonshine. "Lets go." I announced, and led Cassie onto a trail leading to a small forest with a stream.
"So did we get this in the mail today?" She asked.
"Yeah. It took longer than usual to get here, but it came and it was worth it."
"So what does it say?"
"Here. I have it with me." I pulled the letter out of my pocket and handed it to her. She stopped Moonshine to read the letter.
"Oh my god! They actually signed the paper!"
"I know! I had a total freak attack when I opened it."
"I can't believe they actually want pictures. What would they do with them?"
"I honestly don't know. But I am curious. How 'bout when we send this in, we send a note along with it asking?"
"We could do that." We began walking again.
"Lets jump." I suggested.
"Sure." There was a large fallen tree in our path. I led and went over first. Then I went ahead and waited for Cassie. We came to the stream and let the horses drink.
"Should we race back, then take a picture of us on that old camera that develops them too?" I asked her.
"Yeah." Cassie pulled up next to me.
"Ready, set, go!" I shouted. I gave Rosco the cue and headed for the tree. We jumped over it at the same time. We came came out of the woods going full out. We passed a line of trees and slowed down.
"Holy cow Rosco's fast."
"Duh. Do I have to remind you that he's part Thoroughbred too? And Arabian."
"Yeah, yeah. Lets put 'em up." We went into their barn, untacked them, gave them a quick grooming, and closed up the barn.
"Do you know where that camera is Maranda?"
"No. It might be in moms' room though." Our father was a big business man. He left our mom when she was pregnant with Rory for his secretary. We only see him through his companys' commercials. He is very handsome. My parents Eleanor and Hunter met at a Kentucky Derby one year. They fell in love, got married for eleven years, then my father left. My mom says I look a lot like my dad. I had honey gold hair to my shoulders and turquoise blue eyes.
"What else is in your pocket?"
"A letter from my agent."
"Oh. Did you get a contract?"
"Not yet. I have to call her later though."
"Oh. I'll go find the camera."
"Kay." I found a wall with nothing in the background, where we could take the picture.
"I found it!"
"Good. Come to the livingroom." Cassie found me.
"Set the timer and come over here Cass." She did what I said. We smiled and leaned forward. The picture was taken and we ran to see the outcome.
