Chapter Six

"Pizza!" Alex shouted.
"Fine with me. Cass?"
"Sure."
"What kind do we want?"
"Pepperoni!" Cass yelled."
"Black olives!" Alex hollered.
"Dang guys. I'm right here. Don't haveta scream."
"Sorry." They appologized.
"I'll call and order now. Cass listen to the radio."
"Kay." I picked up the cordless and dialed the pizza place. I ordered the pizza, than ran to get the money mom left. Slowly, the sky got darker and darker. I got the money from my mom's drawer, and looked out the nearest window. The sky was now a medium gray. I heard a shriek as the first clap of thunder hit. I ran down the stairs.
"What?! What happened?!"
"It was Alex. I think hi's scared of thunder." As soon as I hit the bottom stair, Alex almost plowed me over.
"Alex, it's just thunder. It's the lightning you have to worry about. Thunder can't hurt us." I said soothingly. "Come on. You can help Cassie bring down plates and napkins to the-" I was inturrupted by another clap of thunder, and Alex was screaming again. I looked out the window as it started to pour freezing rain. The horses out in the pasture- the horses! "Alex, take these and sit in my room."
"You said I'm not allowed in there-"
"You are now. Do whatever you want, just don't make a mess." I said frantically, pulling on a pair of shoes. "Cass, put on a pair of shoes, you're helping me. Alex, if the pizza comes, give the person this money. Don't take any back. Kay?"
"Yes."
"Come on Cass."
