Chapter Seven

"Where are we going?"
"The horses, they're in the pasture in this freezing rain." It began hailing golf balls. "Hurry Cass!" I looked outside. The horses in the pasture were starting to stampede. "Get your helmet and meet me in the pasture to catch horses and put them in the barn." I ran out of the house for the barn, snapping on my helmet as I went. I grabbed three halters and three leadropes and ran for the pasture. I had cought two horses by the time Cassie had come out. I cought the third and led them to the barn. I put them in the nearest stall and ran back for more. Ten were out. All the breeding mares were out for the day. Cassie cought two more and brought them in. I haltered three more while Cassie got the last two. We went in the barn. I let the horses go and Cassie shut the barn door.
"Wow. That's a lot of work."
"We have to put the horses back in their correct stalls, and feed them before we go back in. Just prey it doesn't thunder again before we're inside so Alex doesn't lose it. Let's get this done." We led the horses in their stalls and made our trips from the feed room to each stall. When taht was finally done, we went back in the house. We were both drenched. The smell of pizza greeted us as we stepped inside. We went downstairs to my room. Alex had a pick-nick type theme going on the top of my water bed. "I hope you put a towel under that pizza box Alex. Go change Cass."
"Kay." She left my room. I went into my closet and pulled out some pajammas.
"I'll be right back Alex."
"Can I turn on your t.v.?"
"Sure."
"Yea!!" I went across the hall to my bathroom and changed out of my wet clothes.
