Chapter Five

As soon as I sat on my bed, the phone rang.
"Hello?"
"April, we just wrote our first song."
"What's it about?"
"About a boy and girl fighting. It's sooo cool!"
"Well, congradulations."
"One thing more before I go- you can play almost any instrument, right?"
"Why?"
"We need someone for back-up keyboards and flute.. I told them I knew someone who could do that. You can play them both, can't you?"
"Yeha, but why do you need me? And for how long?"
"Just this one song. If you sound okay here, you can be an honorary band member. You won't have to play both at the same time, and you'll have a part where it's just you, the sax and drums. It'll sound really cool. Come to practice now- please?"
"Where is it?"
"At my house. Oh. Can you bring a flute?"
"Yeah. Five minutes."
"Oh thank you April! You'll be famous if we make it!"
"Okay, okay. Good bye Brittney."
"Bye!" We hung up, I grabbed the flute and went to Brittney's. She was waiting for me outside whin I arrived.
"I'm so glad you could come! Were you doing something important when I called?"
"No." We arrived in the basement, and I was greeted with a chorus of hello's. Brittney introduced me to everyone, then we got down to business. Mallory handed me a couple of sheets of music that had the notes quiclky scribbled on them. One sheet for the flute, and one for the keyboards. I had to play them both once through. Then we al played. Brittney was right. It did sound cool. The song was about fighting- but it made you want to dance. It was a combination of 'MMMBop', 'Where's The Love', and 'Speechless'.
