Chapter Fifteen

Tay unwrapped the 'I Will Come To You' single and put it in the player, and pressed play. When 'I Will Come To You' began, they started singing along. My c.d. player had a button on it that you could push to lower the singer's voices so it'd just be the instruments playing. Tay pushed the button and all that was left was Tay and Isaac singing in my room. When the song was done, I clapped.
"You guys are good!" I said.
"Thanks." Tay said. When 'Cried' came on, they sang that one too.
"I love that song!" They smiled.
"Are you done flirting Tay?" Isaac asked. Tay blushed a nice shade of bright red. I giggled.
"Yeah."
"Can we go now? I wanna see the car."
"I want to hear Love sing." Tay looked at me.
"Ah, I guess so." I said hesitantly.
"Can you sing any of our songs?" Tay asked.
"No. I don't know them enough." I said quietly.
"What songs do you know that you could sing for us?" Isaac added.
"Any Mariah Carey song." I answered.
"Can we turn off her voice?" Tay pushed the voice button again.
"I suppose."
"Can I pick a song?" Tay asked.
"Yeah." He happened to pick my favorite one, and my best one. 'Underneath the Stars' off the c.d. Daydream. He pushed play and it started. I looked at them. They were watching me intently. I began singing. "One summer night, we ran away for a while..." After the song was done, I looked at Issaac, then at Tay. Their mouths were hanging open.
"You could have your own contract if you wanted. But then if we were touring and you were touring, we'd never see eachother, and that would be bad." I blushed this time.
"Nobody would take me shopping." I said, trying to give them a clue that I wanted to go.
"Lets go see the car." Isaac inturrupted.
"Good idea. Lets go Isaac." He held out his arm so I looped my hand through and we walked down the stairs. "Coming Tay?" I called.
"In a minute!"
"Kay." Tay listened to that same song again, remembering me singing.
"Sounds like Mariah, but a bit lighter." He said to himself. He ran down the stairs, and was directed to the garage by my mom. He was in the kitchen when my mom saw him.
"Hi!" My mom said to him.
"Hi. Have you seen Love and Isaac?"
"They're in the garage." She pointed to the far side of the house to a door.
"Thanks."
"What are you guys doing?"
"Ike agreed to take Love to the mall today. She's showing him the car."
"Oh. Take the car. Have fun. Are you going too? You're Taylor, right?"
"Right. Ike, Love and I are all going to the mall."
"Do you like Love?" She said with a mischevious grin on her face.
"What?!" Tay asked, knocked off guard with the up-front question.
"Do you like her. Back home she was little Miss Queen of popularity. She didn't want to move because she was going to lose all that. So, I'm asking if you like her. Not any more than a friend, if that's what you're worried about."
"Uh, yeah. I guess so."
"Okay. You can go. Have fun." Tay started to leave, but backed up.
"You wouldn't happen to be related to Mariah Carey, would you?"
"No. Why?"
"Love sounds like her."
"I know. She's amazing, isn't she. She has no idea of how good she really is."
"Yeah. What's your name?" Tya asked, changing the subject completely.
"Rachel McCoy. Call me Rachel."
"Love McCoy. What's Mr. McCoy's name? Is there a Mr. McCoy?"
"Yes. His name is Ian."
"Okay. Bye Rachel."
"Bye Taylor." Tay left, thinking over the conversation he'd just had. 'It's so odd she's not. She sounds so much like her. Wow.' He opened the garage door. He saw Isaac and I sitting in the front seat, leaning towards eachother, heads almost touching.
"This button starts the c.d. player." I told Isaac. I looked up. "Hi Tay!"
"Hi. You sing great Love."
"Thanks. That's a great compliment coming from someone who has a record deal. Ready to go? I was showing Isaac the car." He looks at Tay and grins.
"This is a cool car." I got out of the car, went around the front to press the button to open the garage door.
"Come on Tay." He followed me around to the other side. I slid in next to Isaac and gave him the keys. Tay slid in next to me. Isaac started the car and pulled out of the garage. As soon as we were out, my mom closed the garage door.
