Chapter Twenty Eight
The curlers were out, our make-up was on, and we were adding the final toutches. Earrings, necklaces, shoes, barretts. My dad was in a tux, and my mom had a short red dress with off the shoulder sleeves. My hair turned out good. We piled my big curls on top of my head with my clip I had gotten at Claire's.
Parents being parents, my mom had to get the camera and take pictures.
"Well, it's time to go. Ready?" My dad looked at me.
"I guess so." I shruged and headed towards the garage door. My parents followed me and we left to pick Taylor up. My mom got out of her seat so I could go get him. I hopped out and began to walk up their sidewalk. I knocked on the door, and Diana answered it.
"Hi Love, Taylor will be out in a minute. You look absoloutely beautiful Love. The boss's son will be jealous! Turn around."
"Thanks." I spun around slowly. I took off my jacket so she could see the back.
"That is just darling!"
"Thank you. Your son Taylor picked it out for me. Did you know he had such good taste? Hi Taylor!"
"Hi Love." He came from behind his mom.
"Hold on, let me go get my camera." We rolled our eyes while she dashed to her bedroom. We looked eachother over and smiled.
"You look nice Tay."
"So do you." We stood in silence as we waited for Diana to return. finally she came back.
"Okay, face me." We turned towards her and smiled.
"Put your arm around her waist Taylor." He slowly did as he was asked. She snapped another picture.
"That should be good. You have to go. Bye! Have fun!"
"Bye." We went back to the car and got into the backseat. We had the top up so us girls (and boys), didn't mess up our hair.
"You look handsome Taylor."
"Thanks Rachel."
"You guys look so cute togeather!"
"Okay mom. We get the point." Tay looked over at me and smiled. My dad turned on the radio. "Are you ready for this Tay?" I asked him quietly.
"Yeah. Are you?"
"I suppose so. You really do look good Tay."
"Thanks. It took us since eleven this morning to find a suit that would fit me."
"You have that many?!"
"Well, my mom keeps every suit that comes into the family. I had to try on three before this one."
"Oh no."
"Yeah. One of them was so small, it could have fit Mackie. And another one was so bit it could have fit my dad."
"Wow. Sounds like you had some struggles."
"It was pretty rough."
"I'm sure." We sat and listened to the radio the rest of the way.
