Chapter Seven
I walked back to the front of the house and saw some lady walk out of the million kid house. I went over to the trunk of our can and pretended to look busy.
"Hi!" The stranger said brightly.
"Hi." I answered.
"You're moving in here? Need help? Oh, sorry, I'm Diana."
"Hi Diana, I'm Love, and yes, we're moving in."
"Where are you you from?"
"San Jose, California."
"Oh really. Why did you have to move?"
"My parent's jobs."
"Oh. Do you have any brothers or sisters?"
"Nope." My parents came out of the house and came over to me.
"Love, go pick out your room." My dad told me.
"Good bye Diana. It was nice meeting you." I replied politely.
"Good bye Love. It was a pleasure meeting you too." She smiled and waved.
"Hi!" I heard my parents say to Diana as I left. I got inside the house and took my own little tour. There were two floors. The upstairs was all one room. It also had a bathroom. The first floor had everything else. Kitchen, living room, dining room, den, master bed room and bathroom. I pick the top floor for my room, so I went back up to investigate it more thuroughly. The room had two windows. One was facing the back yard and the other faced the million kid house. My window and the window that I had saw the curtains swinging from previously, happened to be lined up directly across from eachother. Interesting. I left the house to go tell my parents which room I had picked. When I got to my parents side, Diana had a few kids around her.
"Hi Love." Diana greeted. "I want you to meet our kids. This is Mackenzie, or Mackie." She lovingly layed a hand on top of his head.
"Hi Love!" He shouted, and cracked up hysterically.
"This is Avery, or Avie."
"Hi Love."
"Hi Avie, hey Mackie."
"And this is Jessica, or Jessie."
"Hi Love."
"Hi Jessie."
"I have four more around here somewhere." She looked around. "Well, I can't see them now, but I have a three month old baby that's with my husband. The next older one is Zachary or Zac. Then Jordan, but he likes to go by his middle name Taylor. The oldest is Clark, but he likes his middle name better- Isaac."
"Love, dear." My mom said. "It's Taylor's birthday today. He's fifteen."
"That's nice. Tell him happy birthday." I answered dryly. Then the conversation took a dramatic turn. I saw the curtains move again. I watched curiously.
"Love, I was wondering if you'd like to babysit for the baby tomorrow. Our usual sitter couldn't make it. It'd just be the baby. Ike,Tay and Zac will be around sometimes. But you'll only have to watch the baby."
"Fine." I replied absently, to absorbed in watching the curtains. My parents and Diana were talking some more, so I decided to go up and wait for the moving company in my room.
