Chapter Eleven

"Hi Zac!" Diana greeted.
"Hi Zac." Everyone else chimed in.
"Hey guys. Mom? Dad? Can I- talk to you for a minute?"
"Sure sweetie. What's up?" Diana asked.
"I'd love to tell you, but it's kind of personal."
"Ooohhh." They nodded knowingly. "Let's go in here. Is it bad?" Walker asked.
"Depends on how you look at it."
"Then maybe we'd better go into the bathroom so we can sop up the blood easier."
"Funny dad. My sides are splitting." Zac said sarcastically. They went into the next room (which wasn't a bathroom after all) and closed the door.
"Spill it." Diana said. They looked at their son, waiting patiently.
"I love you guys." He ran to them and gave them a huge hug.
"That's nice. Is that it?" Diana asked.
"Yes!" They began to leave. "No!" They stopped and faced Zac. "Sit down. No." They sat on the table in the middle of the room. "Mom, dad, remember the last time we were here? It was almost four years ago."
"Yes, why?" Walker looked confused.
"Well, when we were here last, I kinda, ah, made out with a girl."
"Like how far make out?" Walker asked curiously.
"Do you have a kid Zac?" Diana asked quickly.
Name's Lucy. Yes, I'm a dad, and you're great grandma and great grandpa." Diana and Walker were speechless. Zac began nervouslly shifting his weight from one foot to the other after two minutes of nothing. Diana was the first to speak.
"So, where is she?"
"The girl or the kid?"
"Let's see the girl. What's her name?"
"Marilynn." He opened the door, then closed it partly behind him. "Mar, it's going smoothly so far. They just got over the initial shock of being grand parents." "They're not bitter yet. I don't think they will wither, at this point."
"Okay." Zac took her hand and gave her a squeeze for encouragement. She smiled meekly, and they stepped into the room.
"Mom, dad, this is Marilynn. Marilynn, mom Diana, dad Walker."
"Hello Diana. Hello Walker."
"Hello Marilynn." They said together.
