"Well, here we are in Tuscon. I have to make a drop, and then another pick up at a different location in Tuscon to take on to Oakhurst, which is where I have to stop. I won't be able to take you any further. But it's not that much farther, probably about ten miles or less, depending on where you have to go in Tulsa. So as of right now, our schedule is this. Today we'll make El Paso by the time I have to stop driving. Then tomorrow morning we'll leave El Paso and make Oakhurst. I'll make my drop, and then you can sleep in here until the next day so you can get a clean start on the rest of the way on Tuesday."
"Alright, sounds awesome. I'm so grateful."
As they pulled into the dock, Greg said, "You need to jump in the back now, and stay quiet. If they hear you, they'll kick you out for sure. They know I haven't been doing this long enough to have a distraction like you riding along." He smiled. "Not that I mind." Bria grinned, and climbed between the seats to lay down on the small bed. Hesitating, she looked at the bed. When was the last time these sheets had been washed? Would the blanket reek? She gagged a little, then jumped in and pulled the covers up to her chin. It wouldn't matter anyway, she'd need to look dirty and ragged in the end. Might as well start now. Besides, the blanket didn't smell so bad. It could have been alot worse. As he slowly backed the truck up to the dock and they began unloading, Bria fell asleep.
"Bria. Hey Bria. Wake up. We're in El Paso, at a TravelCenter. We're done for the day. You were right about being quiet as a mouse. I didn't hear you once." Greg smiled, then turned the truck off. He turned off the light in the cab, and climbed back to sit on the bed next to Bria. Bria sat up, and made room for him.
"So, what did you have in mind?" She said quietly, running a hand down his arm.
"Well, we could start with this." He leaned in slowly and began to kiss her.
The next morning when Greg's alarm went of at six am, Greg climbed stiffly back into his seat and turned his truck on. He'd left her asleep, and would always remember this time, the first time he'd had a woman in his truck, and slept on his side next to her on her side, squashed on his small single person bed. But it was worth it. He grinned as he pulled out of the truck stop and began his long drive through Texas and up north to Oakhurst in Oklahoma. He knew that as soon as he dropped her off, he'd change his story around a little, but brag to anyone who would listen about how he had a girl in his truck. He was proud of himself, and felt he was now a true trucker, getting laid on the road. He was only twenty five, and had been driving for a little under two years, but he hoped that this was not the first experience like this.
When Bria woke up around nine, she sat up and looked around, trying to remember where she was and how she'd gotten there. When she heard Greg, she remembered.
"Good morning Bria. Would you like to stop for breakfast? We've been on the road for three hours now, and I'll have enough time to stop a couple times before I have to make my next drop."
"Ah, sure. That sounds good. But I have only a couple dollars."
"It's okay, I'll pay."
"Thanks. I can pay you back again." She smiled at him. Last night hadn't been so bad. It was almost fun. She dug her make up out of her bag and reapplied it, then brushed her hair. Feeling satisfied with her half assed touch up, she climbed up to the passenger seat.
"There's a McDonalds a couple exits up we can stop at, if that sounds okay with you."
"For sure. I won't argue with that."
