Chapter Six

"I came to join the-" The person stopped talking. I opened my to look at the new person. "Hi." He said, not totally sure he liked what was going on in here.
"Hi." I answered, practically prurring. I closed my eyes again when I was sure he wasn't a threat. Tay stopped brushing my hair ofr a second, then picked up where he had left off. I sighed happily.
"Her name's Mariah." Zac ssid for me.
"Hello Mariah, I'm Ike."
"Hi Ike." I looked at him and smiled. Tay stopped brushing, then started doing something with my hair. A few seconds later, he was snapping the rubber band, and he was done.
"There. Your hair is now free of snarles and in a braid."
"Thank you." I tried sliding myself around to face forward. The food must have been helping, because I had managed to face front again. I looked from Tay to Zac. "I want to thank you guys for getting me outa there. You don't know how much this means to me. Just being out of that room- is- is such a precious gift- I-I don't know how to thank you enough."
"We're happy we could do this for you." Tay said.
"Yeah. You kinda gave me a small heart attack there. I wasn't expecting a person in there. Sorry I left so quickly." Zac appologized.
"That's okay. I was so thrilled that you brought back help." I smiled at the two boys. "And now we have even a third." I didn't want to leave him out. He smiled.
"Yeah. I was expecting to see Tay and Zac working on songs, but I come here to see Tay doing your hair."
"I'm sure that was a pretty weird sight."
"It was. Hey- your eyes changed color." I laughed.
"Again?! They must be ome sort of inner- self mood ring. They've never changed so fast in one day before. What did they change to?" Ike leaned towards me and looked deep into my eyes, examining them.
"They were green- now they';re blue."
"Cool!" Zac exclaimed.
"What's their origional color?" Ike asked.
"Blue, I think. It's like they can't make up their mind whether they want to be blue or green. They've even once changed to a light shade of brown. Now that's awesome." I smiled and looked down into the bag of Cheerios. Surprisingly, the once half-full bag was empty.
"Wow. You sure chowed that fast." Zac noticed. "Still hungry?"
"Starving. Litteraly." I smiled at my own stupid joke.
"What'da you want next?"
"Chocolate!" Zac passed me a handfull of Rolo's.
"Anybody else want some?" He asked, taking some for himself.
"I'll have some." Tay said, holding out his hand.
"I take a couple too." Ike decided. We sat and munched on Rolo's for a couple of minutes.
"A while back, you guys were talking about writing songs. Are you musicians?" They exchanged glances.
"Are we!" Zac shouted.
"1, 2, 3, 4." Tay snapped.
"MMMBop, ba duba dop ba du bop..." When they finished their little chorus, I knew my jaw was on the floor.
"Holy cow! You guys are soo good!"
"Thanks. We play instruments too." Zac added.
"Really?! Which ones?"
"I play the drums and mini maracas! And I use the megaphone."
"I have the keyboards, bongo's and tambourine."
"I play the guitar. We can all play the piano." "My oh my you guys are talented. Do you dance too?"
"Used to." Ike said. "Do you sing, dance or play an instrument?"
"Not that I know of, but I've never had a chance to do any of that, so I wouldn't know." I saw a tall man come towards the van. He had dark hair and a mustache. He stuck his head in the van.
